The Roman Empire, the ancient worlds most powerful peoples. I ask this question, how is it that they survived for so long? how is it that they survived for centuys before finally falling to time. I already know this, but I want to hear your thoughts on this, why did the Romans survive for so long?
I take AP World history so I should know this... Well, they obviously had a good political system established that was able to settle civil disputes and spread peace and prosperity. They had highly advanced technology, not forgetting an extraordinary political and militia strategy. They were able to expand throughout the Mediterranean, parts of the Middle East, even to some areas in northern China. Key figures in their empire include Constantine, Cesar, and Alexander the Great (was able to expand the Roman Empire by 10-20%).
That's all I can remember from that unit.

The Greeks and Romans are difficult because their history is so long and broad.
