That which is real
May 21, 2017 @ 11:44:50 pm

Reality is the state of being* existent

Reality can be either physical or non-physical (or both?)

Are the physical and non-physical different aspects of the same thing?

Can the physical exist independent of the non-physical?

Can he non-physical exist independent of the physical?

Are the physical and non-physical different aspects of the same thing?

a tree

for example - you could said from sap to the full grown tree. doesn't move any inch, but with roots and truck of the tree is stationary.

when the wind blows the branches from the tree back and forth, the tree moves.

but the growth of the tree not that noticeable, but the tree is different sizes over the years.

i think each object of anything has beginning, middle, and an ending. for example, a rock wasn't by itself. like pebble doesn't grow a rock or a stone.

where does a pebble or a stone come from,or even boulder come from? when this no mountains or volcanoes in the area?

physical things are live, non-physical things deal with chemistry made or man create. consider, alive.

perception of how answers these questions above.

physical see a baby or a living cell from the beginning to the end. is probably, the only way to most of the questions above.

something that is physical or non-physical must have a past, a middle, and a future to exist.

My reality is my interpretation of what I detect to exist.

My reality is not exclusive to only what I detect to exist.

another way of looking at this question below for a human being.

Are the physical and non-physical different aspects of the same thing? yes!

the physical of yourself that you a living a human being, and people know you.

the non-physical of you is your name. like " rose by another name is simply a rose. "

if your name on a list or somewhere that names on the same page on a computer.

anyone, who read this list of names, and see your name, will not associate with a physical thing but only a not-physical things that are simply letters.

My reality is my interpretation of what I detect to exist.

My-reality is created by my-mind

My-reality is a thought that I experience

My-reality is a mental-image

A mental-image is an object

An object is that which can be perceived

That which I experience is a mental-image

The mental-image is created in my-mind

The mental image is created by my mind

That which I experience is a hologram

MM: My reality is not exclusive to only what I detect to exist.

E: I disagree.

My reality is a mental image created by my mind

The mental image that my mind creates is my reality

I am the only one privy to the mental image that is my reality.

My reality can also include things I believe in, but do not detect.

And it doesn't necessarily have to be "physical" -

Karma for instance.

By do not detect do you mean sensory perception?

Reality, as I understand it, is both that which actually exists and the mental image that represents that which actually exists.

That which actually exists is physical

The mental image is non-physical

Yes.

Is reality also what may affect your actions (karma, belief, faith)

Not walking under a ladder
"Being Good"
Throwing spilt salt over your shoulder
Leaving a light on at night
... etc

The mental image is non-physical.

the non-physical mental image come from the brain. the brain is physical.

in sense, the mental image is part non-physical and physical.

E: You ask excellent questions. I would say that belief (or expectation) is a major factor in the creation of subjective reality. I have been kind of thinking that objective reality does not exist (i.e., is not real) independent of perception.

E: as for causality I can say without any fear of contradiction that I have not thought of that and cannot give you an answer. What do you think?

E: yes, that is the mind-body problem. There are several propositions addressing the relationship between the mind and the body; and ...and there is little agreement.

E: I tend to agree with your ideas on the problem.

E: Which came first the mind or the body (i.e., does the mind create the body or the body create the mind?)

E: Can a mind exist independent of a body; does a body exist independent of a mind?

the question is does the mind is create first or does the body come first.

my answer would the mind is created first, be the cell that created by the sperm has develop the brain first probably, and then the body that the cell developed or came out of the cell.

i think even sonic gram, i don't think it really show how the brain form. the sonic gram only show the baby body starting. the picture show the baby's head. it doesn't actually show when the brain form in the cell.

you said:

which came first the body or the brain?

does the brain need a body to function to exist? does the body need a brain to be function it?

another way looking at it, why did god give us, a brain in the first place?

Perhaps there are three kinds of "reality"...

That "we" as individuals perceive to be real.

That which others (or the majority of others) perceive to be real.

And that which is real independent of "our" perception.

maybe, our perception in our lifetime changes. certain stages of our lifetime is where our perception changes see things clear into reality.

like stages of our life: a baby, childhood, adulthood, and the few minutes until we died ( the light at the end of the tunnel concept.)
