Ten Years Ago

I was in a settled relationship, I had a different job, I lived somewhere else, I knew less than I do now, I used a bulky desktop and had never heard of TFS, but I drive the same car!

I guess some things last longer than others!

Look around, what was there 10 years ago?

I was coming to the end of primary school! my parents were still together and I had to pretend I had no idea that my mum was cheating on my dad. Yay!

I was f***ing a 17 year old.

Happy days indeed!

Was it a boy?

A man by the time I was done.

Is he still a part of your life?

We are still friends so yes. We had fun for about 3 months and then I encouraged him to go out and find some girls his own age.

10 years ago my mom was still alive (for 2 more years), I could still walk pretty well with a cane. I still had a car. Still lived in a house. Still owned a gun collection and several other collections.

10 yeas ago, I was 20 years old and half way through my first degree. I was living in Preston, away from my family or friends and with a bunch of people I didnt really care for, but thats uni life. I was single and still had Pepper, my first dog. Life was good, I loved uni and had dreams for the future as it was the year I bought my first house while living away. I had only recently got my first mobile and the internet for the first time so I had not heard of TFS either by then!


Now 10 years on my life is dramatically different. I left uni with a degree & a masters degree, not to mention a shed load of other numerous qualifications.I came to live back home into the house which I bought all those years ago. I have seen both parents through cancer and been in hospital with a scare myself. I am training to be a counsellor and study psychology & also criminology with forensics. My Pepper died and I miss her terribly still, but I have Willow and Bramble to occupy my time. I am no longer single- in fact I am with such a lovely man and so happy.

Who knows what the next 10 years will bring. It is true how fast life can turn around and things can change so with some luck it might be what I would love my life to be like.

What? .... stamps... 75's on vinyl ..... beer mats ..... toe nail clippings.... what?

I was 10 and life was pretty good. I was popular at school oddly enough, got all the solos in my choir and spent my days watching Star Trek and reading like it was going out of fashion. I had 3 great best friends as well.

I know we all look back on the past with rose tinted glasses, but I'd definitely go back right now if I could. Even if I was a little bit on the big side.

ooops, that should be numerous! Much better recently now I have found the love of my life and we have plans for the future, so I am hoping that the next 10 years will be even better

Old catalogs and magazines. Some dated back to the 1900's. Had (have) a collection of knives, folding and non folding. Had swords and bayonets at one time. Still have a lot of old photos. Had many air guns, both pistol and rifles. Had boxes full of movie vids and music. Gave 'em all away. Lots of tools. Sold 'em all when I had to move.
