It's so different from any other point of time in history?

The people fifty years ago didn't just stand around smoking pipes and wearing suits?

The people fifty years ago beat their wives legally with sticks (No wider than their thumb).

And do you think it gets better the further you go back? Because it most certainly does not. It just gets steadily worse and worse.

Violence is lower than it's ever been in history.

We are in a fantastic society compared with our past.

50 years ago chavs didnt stand on street corners getting drunk, shouting abuse at innocent old ladies walking by. 50 years ago there wasnt as many weapons readily available and drugs werent awash for any tom dick or harry to get hold of. 50 years ago it was behind closed doors, that dont make it right but if its off the street it makes it safer. todays society might seem nicer but in reality it aint much better

50 years ago, you didn't have chavs.

But in our past, there where always kids stirring trouble. It's all based off the context. They rebel against whats being shoved down their throat.

Now add onto that a near inability to catch offenders, highwaymen and entire stretches of land that people could not go through.

It's all in context.

i peronally blame music, which im as guilty as anyone or following. think about it music dictates the way alot of people dress, talk, think etc.. back in the 70s punk was the loud aggresive way to put your point across. then it was rap back in the late 80s and again today. all of them very much a movement against what the past generation stood for. unfortunately its gone from being a way of getting yaself out of the s**t to a better life to staying like that in horrible places getting stoned alot

You sound like a young version of the people who hated on Elvis and called Rock 'N' Roll evil.

nah its only rap i hate but think about it from that point of view and its true. im a punk fan and i dare say id be seen as threatening back in the 70s. so what! its chavs quite recently that are violent bastards that get on my tits. but does my above post make logical sense because as far as im concerned its perfectly true

No it doesn't make logical sense.

You also sound a bit like my gran. I was watching Kerrang and "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence came on and my gran got started. "Oh for God's sake! Anyone thinking of killing themselves will take one listen to that and go ahead and f**kin' do it! 'Bring me to life'! What are they? Zombies?" etc. You sound like my granny on a rant and make about as much sense as that rant. (Still don't get how a song with that name and those lyrics could drive someone to suicide but that's just me.)

I don't think Stan had a bad ring to it and most people I know agree (you're that exception). It doesn't promote what the song character did. If I hear a rapper actually saying "Go out kick people who look different" or some derivation of that then yes, I will agree it's what causes this stuff. But otherwise, no it's not.

i liked stan at the time myself. lets have a look at that judas priest song that i you played it backwards it sounded like rob halford said 'do it' (regarding a case where two young fans shot themselves after listening to it) subliminal message? bollocks it just sounds a wee bit like it after youve been told what it sounds like. same as another one bites the dust sounds like its fun to smoke marijuana allegedly
