Kids are unexpierienced.

I'm sure people are alot smarter ten years after birth than before.

And if we kill them for their murder, then its not going to be teaching them anything.

Its just another senseless kill like they did.

They deserve to be punished to know the pain they cause the people close to her, but they should also learn from their mistake.

kids my fkin a** im a child
an 10 12 13 14 is a child these guys are like 17 -19

theres no excuse and its ppl like you who agree with these short sentences that allow
these ppl to run free
imagine when on a bus you could be sitting next to a rapist, thief, murder, or simple a
victim

if i killed someone (of which i would never do)
i would want to give my life in return
being a child is no excuse
children have there own minds they make there own decision
you cant blame a gang or even just some friends they did what they did cos there evil, sick
and twisted ppl

you dont just happen to kick and punch someone to death

Yes, you are a child. So am I and up until 18 (And given mental circumstances, even
beyond) many people are still growing. People are different as they develop.

18 years is not a short sentence. Especially not when the prosecuted is 16 himself. It is a
horrifically long amount of time.

These kids were clearly not mentally stable. Anyone who feels the need to bash a woman
to death has clear issues. Jail is not punishment, remember. Because punishment wouldn't
solve anything. Does it bring Sophie back? No. Does it make anyone feel any better? No.

Jail is there to hold dangerous person/s until they are fit to return to society and to interact
in a positive manner.

In 16 years, when these kids spend the prime of their life been bashed every day in prison,
I think you'll see a different person coming out. They're not the top dog anymore and will
not be bashing girls to death in crowded parks.

This is a fair and just sentence. It will serve the purpose nicely.

ya see i disagree with ya there, prison should be a punishment because if it just holds them until they're 'fit to rejoin society' what lesson they gonna learn? prison needs to be a s**thole punishment making them not want to go back for love nor money

Sadly though, I feel like society is just failing the younger people of today. I mean, lets face it people are getting off easy with murders and they really don't see the wrong in what they're doing. Sure they know they're doing wrong, but to what extent if they can possibly do it without remorse?

Fuck it.
Kill 'em.

Fact of the matter is that prison is not punishment.

The description 'punishment' is used for lack of a better term.

The aim and design of prison is to rehabilitate the individual until they are suitable for release.

I believe that it's a fantastic approach. If they're not suitable for release, they can be kept in.

My main argument is that in 18 years, I believe the murderers will be suitable for release. They're kids now and they have a lot of growing up to do and prison will be plenty of karma spinning 'round.

In 18 years, they will really be regretting the night they acted like idiots and took something too far.

Of course, it'll never equal out the karma. The only thing that could really even them out would be if they brought her back. Unfortunately, they can't. Giving them 18 years to regret what they've done is a good start, though.

I stand by that this will definately be something they'll come to regret.

People say this alot. And you may be very, very right.

But please give me some examples to re-affir your point. I'm just not convinced that you can speak for every teenager who ever does wrong.

Don't agree with a death sentence but 18 years in prison sounds like a good idea. The prisons may be "soft" but it's still being separated from their friends and family and kept with angry criminals.

At the same time, most teen criminals grow out of it when they're in their 20s anyway and it's just because of peer pressure that they do it in the first place. They may have just been following a crowd. That doesn't make it less wrong, just gives a reason for the "senseless" violence behind it.

They do deserve it though. Especially after that kid claimed he "didn't know anything was wrong" when her ears started to bleed.

And that I can't.
But we are all only human, and tend not to think certain acts through, and lets face it, this world has gone to s**t. I'm not speaking for the teens that killed, but I look at this way. A majority of teens who have killed people and done some school shootings don't really stop to think of who else they are hurting in the matter or stop to think how many people care about that victim or the victim's loved ones etc. I mean when I watch the news and get the reports from the words of the criminals, their only focus was just on that one person, whether they wanted revenge or had prejudice, their mind was only focused on that person, and not the effect it could have. As a matter of fact, the heartless-ness aside! What about the thoughtless and lack of thinking? There were witnesses everywhere, didn't they stop and think that they could get locked away or that the law would screw them right back in return? Apparently they just go right ahead with it, and cry and beg later. When they're scared or emotionally stricken later it's almost as if they didn't come to expect a consequence.

What my point was that most younger people of today don't think before acting. Shit, I'm not saying I'm perfect or flawless. I've done some screwed up things, and without thinking, but things like this are very f**king serious, and it seems to me that society might just be what it is failing kids these days to where they must not think there's any consequences.

A perfect example is OJ simpson robbing a place with guns and everything, yet he still gets free. What young group of children isn't able to see that? It's national f**king television! Now if that man has had evidence of being guilty in a trial before hand years ago and got off as innocent (but you all know he is f**king guilty) it kind of would manipulate a young and unexperienced mind that you can get away with almost anything, and make it seem like things like that have no consequences.

Example enough for you?

The thing is, these kids have most definately done this a million times before.

They take it a bit far each time, I'm sure, even by their own standards but their victim hobbles off with a couple of broken bones.

I'm sure this night was just like any other, but it just went a little further than usual. Retards like those kids wouldn't have a clue what the signs to stop kicking her would be.

They'd kick her till they've had their fill and unfortunately their fill was a little more than she had in her.

The morals and values our generation hold are alot better than they've ever been. the idea that people are being told you can get away with anything is entirely untrue.

The news centres around cops finding the bad guys.

It's been like that for decades.

You say that "Kids of today don't think before they act". This is an entirely untrue, generalised and unbased statement! If you need to make a convincing argument, narrow things down. You cannot talk on such a level for so many people.

The fact that people can get off whether they're guilty or not would have little to no effect to two British teenagers who have problems with diversity.

I wasn't speaking for those two nescesserily, but lets face it, on tv in courtrooms (at least here in america) there have been people guilty as sin who have gotten off trial a free man for horrible things where there is so much evidence that they are guilty! Shit, that pretty much conveys the message that the law wont be that strict on you!
