This thread is not aimed at anyone in particular, it's just been something I've noticed for the past few months and kept forgetting to bring up.
I've seen a lot of new members join TFS purely to meet/chat with people in a romantic/sexual way. Examples? Cybering, online dating, etc.

The answer to this question is most likely yes. BUT...you will probably not be taken seriously.
While there is nothing wrong with joining TFS to meet people and make new friends, please know there are other things to do here. The main thing comes from the name of the website itself.
The FORUM Site.
This is a site with a bunch of different forums. Forums are places where people gather to discuss their views on topics and debate. Some are more serious than others. If you wish to just chat, the best place for that is the General Discussion Chat Room 4 or Post Your Mind!!!! Part 3!!!!
Although this behavior may be common when using some sites, TFS is not those sites. It is not a dating website either. If you join to pick up chicks or guys, you probably won't make friends straight off. Not because you'll get in trouble, unless you persistently harra** a member which is not acceptable and our mods do a great job monitoring this, but because the majority of the people here do not join with the same intentions. You'll lose interest quickly, as you probably won't get the response you had hoped for. If however you are here for lively chat and to make friends then TFS gives you a warm welcome.
