no no no I you are entitled to an oppinion.
There are two kinds of self harmers.
the ones who self harm for attention
and the ones who have ligitimate reasons;
like they feel like they have to punnish themselves
or they need to get all of the badness out

I have issues with people who self harm that prevent me from being unbiased but........
It sounds like a logical next step for the health service if you consider its reacent illogical changes (which seem to do some good).
For example, doctors refusing to treat smokers, not treating a ill person is illogical for a doctor but is the right choice for smokers.
Maybe this will work

In a way i think its a good idea it has advantages aswell as disadvantages. i mean if they are being supervised they have the medical help there don't they, at the end of the day they gonna do it regardless so if someone is there it could prevent them doing themselves too much harm.

I new a girl who cut herself. The group of friends that she hung out with all knew about it and just looked at her arms everyday to check for new ones. When i found out about it, it freaked me out and i was just like thats not health why dont any of you care. And they had all excepted it and just whatevered it. But we had this big conversation about it. And she said she did it because she felt weak crying. And she felt like this made her a stronger person. Plus she said that the pain was addictive. She is one of those people who loves pain. I believe she quit finally but i think she just replaced it with something a little more healthy -gettting tattoos- So either she got over cutting herself or nothing really big has happened in her life latly. (which is when she said she did it) But to the point - i dont think her friends controlling the situation made anything any better i mean she still did it. So maybe she liked the point that they were paying attention to her?

I was a self harmer, i wasn't an attention seeking harmer, i covered myself up, legs, arms, it made me feel better when life got hard, but as i got older i stopped but started drinking more, unfortunately i had a relapse a few months ago with the harming but i'm slowly getting back to how i was, thankfully my life turned round.

I think the idea of being watched and having medical attention is a good idea, how many self harmers must there be who have accidentaly gone that one step further an slit a vein?

I cut... i really dont understand what the big deal is... if a person cuts to escape from the pain in real life let them... its their only happiness.

I used to... still do when things get really bad... but i have found other ways of causing pain... which still isn't good but i can deal with it...

But this idea... i don't know if it is a good idea or not... like at least it is being monitered... but is it being dealt with??? It is like the Heroin Injecting rooms. I think...

if i lay here, if i just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world...

I agree. I do not think that these kids should put into rooms and watched like rats, Cutting should not be encouraged, but I do understand that it is an addiction and that they cannot stop just because somebody tells them too.

I believe it is best to deal with a counselor and mental health professional. Just having somebody there to watch is not going to solve anything, and I do not believe that anybody would cut to just get attention, they must have an urge for it which is strong enough to overcome the embarassing results.

What do I think?!!! What are they f**king nuts!
Do they actually call that treatment, or therapy?
Sounds like they are just using those poor people as their guinea pigs... or maybe those so called doctors, are really escaped mental patients themselves...it's just so assinine! obsurd!... I just don't want to hear anymore

Just remember, that "every mighty oak, was once a NUT that stood it's ground"

Ooh self harm, I can't see the difference between self harm and anti-depressants. I mean okay, one isn't frowned upon and one is. But both relieve or take pain away, I know that sounds kakamany, but it does work, but both are bad because they postpone and supress the pain.
