I can not decide what kind of freaking car to buy!!! It's making me nuts trying to make up my mind. I want to be smart, but I want a car I actually would enjoy driving. Unfortunately, that sort of rules out all the little fuel-efficient cars. Sorry, I know it's terrible for the environment, but I LIKE bigger, faster cars.
I thought I’d go for a Mini Cooper, but I felt it didn’t really suit me. I’m actually leaning towards the Mustang GT. It’s not the wisest move for fuel economy, but it’s not the worst either.
If you were going to buy a moderately priced car, what would it be?

Try out a Pontiac Vibe. I hear they're fun little cars and the base model gets 36 mpg highway. They do have Japanese engines, though, so they're kinda high-revving. No low-rpm torquey American engine.

Check out the Chevy Cobalt SS/Pontiac G5 GT, too. I hear those are a blast, and they still get over 30 mpg highway.

Well, I don't know if I would consider the mustang GT to be a moderately priced care. You can get a better deal on the new Pontiac G8, or possibly a new camero?

I actually concidered it because of my dogs, but decided I'd rather have a car.

I saw that the new cobalt ss will now get over 260 hp. It will definitely be on the fastest compact cars in the market. Or if you want to spend more for an even faster compact car, you can look into that one suburu suped up compact car, i forgot what it's called.

I don't really care for the look of the vibe or the g5. I DID look at the Pontiac Solstice, which I like the look of a lot, but the reviews for mechanical reliability weren't very good.

Chevy Cobalt SS, then?

I'd recommend an Impreza or WRX, but while reliability is OK on them, quality isn't.

They are cool, but the only ones I like are the larger models and they devour gas. I swear I've even considered re-learning to ride a motorcycle again and getting a bike. I really only need it for local stuff anyway. And before anyone suggests a Jap bike, NO way! If I flipped out and really got a bike, it'd be a Harely. Love that rumble.

That's why I'm leaning towards the Mustang...I really like the look, nice V8, good reliability, good reviews. Fuel economy, not so great. I feel guilty getting a Mustang.
