Stolen bicycle recovered

My roommate had his Trek 4300 bicycle
stolen

While he was at the Roxy Restaurant in Portland

the other night. He wasn't upset in the least. We talked and I said, "You are going to get your bike back. He works nights and went to bed. Not 30 minutes later, a roommate called and said he saw it downtown a 5th NW Flanders. I went down there and confirmed it was his bike. It was locked up to another bike on the street. I sat across on a bus bench, called my roommate and told him to get down there. A guy and a girl walked up and were eying the bike when a Portland Police Officer

pulled up on a horse across from them. They walked off, I waved him down, he called it in and a patrol car pulled up. While the cop was calling in to get a tool to break the lock that was on it, a girl walked up and asked, "What's going on? I saw this bike (my roommate's) bike sitting here last night so I thought I would lock it to mine to keep it safe." She then pulled out a key and unlocked the bikes. We knew she was lying but didn't care. He got his bike back within 48 hours because on a community effort.

That was a Google (image) photo. The Police Woman (Taylor) was extremely pleasant and had a 16 year old girl named Paige riding along. She stayed until the very end.
