I'm not sure if St Johns Wort will help with sleep. I have awful problems with sleep and have yet to find anything that works for me I don't have a problem going to sleep but after a few hours thats it I'm wide awake.
Ive tried some of the herbal remedies to help you sleep & camomile tea which tasted disgusting and did nothing
Hope you find something
Warm milk is pretty good for sleep. Do you guys get Milo over there? It's sort of a chocolatie drink that you mix with boiling water and milk that might help. =)

Ive not seen Milo over here but we do get other milky drinks like Ovaltine, Horlicks etc. Might give them a try

Nice hot shower before bed helps too. Partner taught me that trick. She's a nurse and they give babies hot baths to help get them to sleep. =)

To help fall asleep practice deep relaxation. I learned this technique in a high school acting class. Lay flat on your back on a soft, comfortable bed (or floor if you want). Starting at your head and moving downward, slowly imagine every muscle in your body relaxing. Don't move onto the next muscle/area until each area is relaxed (I just imagine the head, neck, shoulders, move down both arms, chest, stomach, back, lower back, legs, and feet). After some practice of imagining that you're pushing away all energy from your body, you'll get sleepy. Sometimes I can make myself fall asleep within just a couple minutes after lying down. Hope this helps.

Both me dear ol' mum and taxi drive told me about this once. I've tried it and it is relaxing but hasn't put me to sleep. Although the taxi driver said he had to practice at if for a half a year, every night, before he mastered it. =)

Cool. Thanks for the reply. It's been suggested to me to help me sleep when the mind and imagination are driving me up the wall. I just didn't want to make my situation accidentally worse. Lol.
That's kind of funny, EB. So, by making a conscious decision to take this herb, you would rather want to make your 'situation' deliberately worse?

I'm sure it sounds odd, but, yes. Not this kind of good anyway. It felt very unnatural, I felt like I was always on the verge of something, it was unsettling.
