I am looking for a good PC game to play something along the lines of a FPS or a RPG. I am more or less looking for something newer and has good graphics because well I am picky about that. So what do you guys think is worth the buy? Anything that could keep my attention for a good while?

Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed - 2.13 GHz
System Bus - 1066 MHz
System Memory - 2 GB expandable to 4 GB
Hard Drive Type - SATA (7200rpm) Size - 320 GB
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS

I am pretty sure I can run most higher end games that are coming out. I ran oblivion on highest quality fine.

I was going to recommend Oblivion, but apparently you've played it.

I'd also recommend Bioshock, but there is no way that the 7600GS is going to be able to handle it. You might be able to do medium or low settings at 1024 x 768 or so.

Besides those games, there isn't much that's come out in the PC world lately. Supreme Commander is OK, but it's an RTS. Rainbow Six Vegas is a pretty decent action-oriented FPS. STALKER was OK. Besides that... there's not much going on. Call of Duty 4 is coming out in 2 months and is apparently highly awesome, and Crysis is due next year.. but Crysis will make your 7600GS weep like a little baby.

Try out the Bioshock demo.

Depends entirely on how much you want to spend.

The lowest upgrade you'd probably want to make is about $200. That would be the ATI Radeon X1950XT. For $275 or so you can pick up an 8800GTS which is the next significant step up.

You can get an X1950 Pro or 7900GS for about $125, but those aren't a big enough upgrade over what you have to warrant the upgrade IMO. The 7900GS in particular isn't very good with Bioshock either.

Yea I was looking at Nvidia's website and they have that 8800 but there is the GTS, GTX, and Ultra now I like the sound of that Ultra but the price is up but the step down to the GTS model seems like I would be loosing out on a bit of fun.

The GTS is a very good card. The GTS 320MB version is better than any 7-series nVidia card and better than all of the ATI X1-series cards. You wouldn't be missing out on anything. It's the smart buy out of the entire 8-series lineup.

The 640MB GTS and the ATI X2900 XT go for almost $400 (the 8800GTS 640 trounces the ATI X2900 XT) and the 8800 GTX starts at $500.

So, if you have $300 to drop on a card and you want one now, the 8800 GTS 320MB is the one to get. Personally I'd wait til about the time Crysis comes out (November) and buy something nearer to that date to make sure you're getting something that can run the game. Crysis is shaping up to be an excellent game.

sweet sweet yea I'll have to check into that crysis game once I am off my work comp and can watch videos and all that fun stuff. Yea I read a few reviews on newegg about that 8800 gts 320mb and it seems to be a good fit but they are saying something about SLI which well I don't really know what that means so I am a noob it seems. (gotta read more i guess ) Well thanks a bunch for the info I will for sure check out that crysis game and will have to look into bioshock also. Thanks again.

SLI is using two cards in tandem.

It rarely gives you enough of a performance boost vs simply buying one higher-end card.

Furthermore, it requires a motherboard with SLI support - that is, two PCI-E 8-16x slots. Chances are that you don't have an SLI motherboard. If you do, your power supply probably won't be able to handle the extra power required by a high-power video card.

SLI is not recommended unless you have incredible amounts of money to pour into your PC and you want two of the highest-end card currently made.

From the owner of a geforce 8800 GET IT i can play any game max settings hands down! Best off it support the new direct x 10 that some games are coming out with now. Amazing graphics!

As for a good RPG game I would recommend is FINAL FANTASY XI
You might enjoy that. All the Final fantasy games seem to get rather high ratings. I enjoyed the 3 I bough so far lol

The Best Final Fantasy Game was definately VII

I felt the hate rise up in me
Kneel down and clear the stone and leaves
I wander out where you can't see
Inside my shell I wait and bleed
