I can't really listen to music on Windows Media Player and be on MSN or the internet at the same time because my laptop just slows right down and the music doesn't play properly.

Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? It's so annoying

Hell, is there any ways that I can speed up my laptop?

(Please forgive me for asking that last question, I'm not good at computers lol)

Windows XP?

Press CTRL+Shift+Esc. The Task Manager will come up.

Go to the Processes tab. Find "wmplayer.exe"

Right click it, then select Set Priority -> Above Normal. It'll give you some silly little confirmation box. Select Yes. Does this fix it?

Besides that, you can disable System Restore. I do this on all computers that I use. The speed difference is impressive. Adding RAM can help quite a bit also. How much do you have?

And, yeah, another media player like Winamp or VLC Player can help as well.

System Properties. Somewhere. I'm not on Vista at the moment so I'm kinda useless helping you find these things.

Try holding the Windows key and tapping Pause/Break.
