Nope.
Long story - I wasn't given the pills by my GP. I was given 2 individual ones (in packaging, so i know they were actually sleeping pills) after I had to meet with someone at the police station.
Anyway, i can't be bothered going into that but i'm 100% sure it wasn't crack.

27/F/KILLEEN, Texas Join Date: Jul 2009 | OMG, this happened to me and my sister in law! it was crazy. they were these AAFES brand sleeping pills called SOMNITABS (super weak sleeping pill) ya gotta take like 16 of them for it to start getting weird. i thought the floor was water and hung onto the fridge handle for safety, haha, and my S.I.L. thought there were little blue spiders with silver legs crawling all over her. freaked out so much that she started rubbing nail polish remover and vinegar on them to try and kill them, lol. and we'd lose or train of thought in a heartbeat. we'll be talking about something and in the middle of my statement, i will forget what the hell i was talking about or just ramble off with something that didn't have anything to with what i was talking about. haha, it was so fun... there's lots more stories, haha! have some crazy ambien stories, too, haha

49/F/Waverly, Washington Join Date: Apr 2009 | happened with my Mom, with ambien. Very powerful sleeping tool. She had just had surgery, and stayed at the hospital late, then decided she seemed stable, so were going to catch some sleep at my sisters. My BIL decided he'd go back to be with her, and I said I would too to spend the night. Good thing - she definitely was hallucinating about something. Not violent, no spiders,
but acted totally out of her mind. Talked like in another language that you've never heard before, and kept doing the hand gestures that crazy people do. Even the hospital staff got very concerned, didn't know what the heck it was, and rushed her all around different places for various tests and x-rays feeling maybe she had another stroke or heart attack. Everyone shrugged it off. Until the next night I think, or next incident -- they gave it to her again, and two of my siblings were there with her during the night. After much discussion, it was determined it was the sleeping pill. My MIL had more mild,
catatonic type symptoms to a sleep aid given to her.
The elderly are definitely more affected by the side effects of sleep aids, but anyone can be.
