Yeah I used to get it pretty often.
Now it only happens when I have a bad sleeping pattern, so I'm trying to keep myself normal to keep from that happening.

my boyfriend gets that sometimes. for a long time he thought it was ghosts .
it seems to effect men and boys a lot more than women and girls.
there's this one form of sleep paralysis that chokes you. but it's insanely rare. if i remember correctly, it's only been reported by 25 people since 1970-something...but yeah...regular sleep paralysis is fairly common amongst you males.

I think it is mostly stress. also, sleeping on your back makes it more likely too. yeah, I have episodes of SP quite often about once every month or so, i think.

The worst episode i've had to date occurred two months ago. I fell asleep on the couch and had a dream where i just got done running and was in desperate need of water, so i went to a shop of some sort for water and tried to tell the lady i needed water, but all i could do was croak because my throat was so dry. at that point i woke up paralyzed and all i could do was croak/moan and was like that for about 30 seconds. what made this one so bad was that as soon as i was able to move again, i fell back asleep into my dream, asking for some water, and i woke again paralyzed. this happened about 20 time, i'd wake up paralyzed, fall asleep, and wake up paralyzed again.

I hate that crap. I always end up coming out of it and convulsing so hard that I wake myself up from whatever I'm dreaming about.

I only have it when I'm dreaming something scary. And want to wake up but can't move around to do so.

I get it frequently after bad dreams or flashbacks caused by my PTSD. It truly sucks and is extremely frightening.

I remember my Dad was having an awful dream during that one time a couple years ago, and he was yelling through his clenched teeth, it was pretty damn scary.

I had to run in and wake him up. Poor guy.

Sure i think we all do at some point in our lives. My major problem is not being able to sleep, that's why i am on here so early.

My father has the same thing happen to him couple times a year. He will be sleeping sound and all of a sudden he will scream out like he is being murdered, dont know how my mom can deal with that.
