What the hell is ska? I just found this forum, so excuse me if I'm not "in the know" or "down with the 411." I assume it's music, because it's in that category.

Ska (pronounced /ska/ or in Jamaican Patois /skja/) is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and was a precursor to rocksteady and reggae.[1]
Ska combined elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues. It is characterized by a walking ba** line, accented guitar or piano
rhythms on the offbeat, and in some cases, jazz-like horn riffs. In the early 1960s, ska was the dominant musical genre of Jamaica, and it was also popular with British
mods. Many skinheads, in various decades, have also enjoyed ska (along with reggae, rocksteady and other genres).[2][3][4][5] Music historians typically divide the history of
ska into three periods: the original Jamaican ska scene of the 1960s, the 2 Tone ska revival that started in England in the late 1970s, and the third wave ska movement,

Cool! You mean Jamaican like Bob Marley? Does it have anything to do with Rastafarianism? In my book, smoking marijuana as a religion is just as cool as a religion created on a bet (hint: Tom Cruise's secondary belief, next to Tomcruisism).

Considering that Bob Marley was originally a Ska artist, yes.

Rastafari followers are more normally found in Reggae eh? But Ska is closely tied to dancehall, reggae and rocksteady etc. so yeah, you'd probably get alot of Skrastas

yeah although Bob was more widely considered reggae he had a very ska-like influence in his music.

In my expirience Rastafarians are big fans of Ska. I've heard a lot of Ska songs, from all three waves, refering to Jah and other Rastafari references.
