Does anyone here know sign language? Lately I've felt this pull towards it and have really been interested. I went on expertvillage.com the other day and just started watching a bunch of videos, and I'm very excited. So, if you share this interest too or if you know it, let me know!

its an interesting thing to get in to, theres alot of jobs going for qualified translators too.

I used to know how to say "you are a f**king wanker, go die now"

But I forgot

I think you could get the meaning of that across without sign language...

I learnt the alaphabet but never got the jist of much else, so providing whoever your speaking to is paitient enough to wait for you to spell everything out....

I took two years of it in High School and 2 years in College. it is alot of fun to learn, and really easy too. The thing about sign language is you dont sign everything word for word and in proper english like you would write out a sentance, or in the same order.

Like if I were to sign "Hi My name is ..." I would sign "Hi, my name.... "

Or if I were to sign "The sun is bright" I would sign "bright sun."

I know the alphabet, and a few words. I suppose I could get by with that if I had to communicate. I've always been interested. What ruinedpuzzle said above is so true it is own language, or languages as it varies from region to region. It isn't a direct translation of english. So by knowing a few words you can get the message across. you can also spell out words you don't know while learning.
