Well, you said "I choose to be straight" like you considered the options and decided to go for straight instead of gay. As if you're proud of your "choice."

If you have no sexual interest whatsoever in your own sex, it's not really a choice.

People who are gay didn't "choose" to be gay any more than you didn't "choose" to be straight.

I think it should. Same sex couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples. It is discrimination. If they are already living together and everyone knows, why not let them marry?

Somebody has lost their sense of humour over the last
hour or so, it is funny to depict an African/American
presidential candidate as a monkey on a t-shirt, but
someone pointing out your "choice" of words regarding
your sexuality calls for annoyance, swearing & the
forcing down the 'caps-lock' key as a response??
Calm down or check your prejudices, I think they
are a little the wrong way round.

Personally I do not believe in it. I am catholic, and do believe that marriage is a religious union. These are just my beliefs, which I expect to get ridiculed for, but thats ok, I can handle it.

Is marriage in a religious respect not the coming together of two of God's people in a ceremony for God to bless the love those two people have?

The thing is the Bible also says that anyone who works on the sabbath should be killed.

How come noone gives a s**te about that view anymore, but the idea that two people of the same sex can't get married is still seen as such an important part of Christianity?
