Can sensation be willed?

Is it possible that at least some of the sensations that I experience are spontaneous (Un-caused) and are generated by my mind independent of the stimulus of any sensory data. (e.g., hallucination, Imagination, Psychosomatic)

To answer your question, using your 'un-caused' option, then I would say yes. Do you dream? I find that in dreams I can have all sorts of sensations.

So if I am awake, and the mind wanders, the same kind of thing can happen. I might feel like I am flying, if thinking about it.

sensation is a reaction to respond from your body or mind. sensation is willing, more like urge. you need to respond the sensation, it willing you to respond. can sensation be willing? I said, yes!

Apparently, even if we aren't dreaming of anything sexual, our dreams can cause our bodies to become sexually aroused. Hence, morning wood.

I was not thinking of stopping sensation but if it works one way I suppose it would work the other way. Yours is an extreme example. Say you have stubbed your toe and it hurts. Maybe you could direct your attention away from your toe to something else and no longer experience the pain.

Thanks
