I do get annoyed when I hear really gorgeous girls say that they're ugly, or really slim girls say that they're fat. It's especially annoying when they do it to fish for compliments!

Understandable. I'm the same way.
I get very annoyed when my skinny friends are like "Eww I'm so fat today" especially when they know I myself am trying to lose weight and get my body in shape, and I'm a little bigger than they are.

Yes but may really feel that way. Just because you no think they fat, maybe they no really think you are, just way you each see yourself.

But when, like other poster say, they do to fish for compliment, then just pathetic. And no very considerate as friend to you.

People with anorexia nervosa apparently see a fat person in the mirror when they're actually skinny and petite. So yes, they may actually see themselves as fat.

Well no...because men are partly to blame for women being self-conscious. Not all of us are mean about it but the few that are give all of us a bad name. One that's close to me is self conscious about her looks. She's always wishing she could be a little better here or there.

I guess I'm doing my job right because she doesn't seem to dread the way she looks as much as she used to.

It starts to hurt when your partner underestimates your love for her because of her insecurity with her body.

"Sorry, sweety, I don't ever really focus on that aspect of you and I wish you'd see me as deeper than that."

She use to do this thing were she said she wasn't good enough for me.

That's when I broke the news to her that she is, in fact, out of my league.

And then I share a kitkat bar with her. She likes those.

Speaking of which...I think I'll go have one now.

Being self-conscious isn't necessarily a turn off for me, however, being secure is a turn on.

I don't mean this to be gender specific or in terms of attraction either. I am just generally more drawn to a person who is secure with themselves than to someone who is self-conscious.

However, when self-consciousness starts to interfere with someone's life and becomes a consistent issue....then I might be turned off or at least frustrated.

Does it turn you off when women act self-conscious or ashamed of their bodies?

I mean. I don't mean to be weird or anything, but you said that you're out of shape. I looked at your pictures. You're pretty gosh darn beautiful.

im only self conscious around somebody i actually care about..
and even then, i dont think it;s really a negative self consciousness, i think it's more of a self awareness.

Some women can be self conscious because of men. All it takes is a bad experience.
