Now, who the f*** said anything about sperm donors, other than you?

This whole issue has arised because one of them isn't the biological parent, no? How is that any different than if they were a straight couple and used a doner?

Yep. Blocked...'statement used by insecure forum user to imply that you need not comment further, but in reality never exercised due to innate curiosity to see what is said about the person by the person they hate'.

There ya go. Same sex marriages will just add more headaches.

A custody battle in Florida between two lesbians could fuel the growing national debate over the definition of motherhood.

It also might force state lawmakers to reconsider a 19-year-old law regarding the rights of sperm and egg donors.

The women, now in their 30s and known in court papers only by their initials, were both law enforcement officers in Florida. One partner donated an egg that was fertilized and implanted in the other. That woman gave birth in 2004, nine years into their relationship.

But the Brevard County couple separated two years later, and the birth mother eventually left Florida with the child without telling her former lover. The woman who donated the egg and calls herself the biological mother finally tracked them down in Australia with the help of a private detective.

Their fight over the now 8-year-old girl is before the state Supreme Court, which has not announced whether it will consider the case. A trial judge ruled for the birth mother and said the biological mother has no parental rights under state law, adding he hoped his decision would be overturned.

What would you say if I showed you the same article from another source? Funny how people accept the same thing from sources other than FOX.

So hoppy, your implication is that the use of a sperm donor is irrelevant because the child will suffer more, and also that you merely mentioned "more", not "worse" because they were lesbian. Then what does their being lesbian have to do with it at all? If nothing, then why is this newsworthy? It happens all the time. If "something" then why didn't you tell us this instead of ranting about how no one read that you only said "more".

The lesbianism that is highlighted in this thread kind of makes it seems as though it is a central relative point, so either show us the effect of being lesbian, or stop pointing out irrelevant details (maybe you want to tell me their hair colors too. It might mean there will be more custody battles if redheads are allowed to marry, being fiery tempered and all.)

And on the contrary to your saying that it will happen more often if lesbians marry and have kids, I disagree. Humans are sexual creatures. They are gonna get sex somewhere. If they truly stopped "choosing" (used lightly as I don't buy that philosophy)to be gay, then they would be straight, would have sex more often with men and would have more babies since it would happen accidentally pretty frequently. These women are the same people regardless of what relationship they are in. They either lack the skills to create a healthy relationship, or they are intolerable, or they are intolerant, or they tend to choose people with intolerable habits. Somehow, someway, there is a pretty good chance they'd have ended up separated anyway, and well then what?

Since they can't work this out civilly, I would tend to believe they lack the conflict resolution skills necessary in any marriage, which means that there would probably be two marriages, two babies, two divorces and two custody battles, just with this couple if they "chose" differently.

I love the arguments against homosexuality. They are like holey buckets. All you have to do is pick a place where the water is pouring out and point.

If you are religious, you'll know what I mean when I say,"wait until the payment comes due". If you are not religious, you'll pay anyway.

That doesn't have anything to do with this custody battle. I get that you believe it is a sin to be a homosexual (or behave homosexually since you are who God made you to be, but behavior is chosen, according to Christianity). But you weren't making a religious argument in this thread. You were attempting to prove that homosexuality is bad for society all on it's own, in tangible ways. So let's hear it, without going around in circles, without being all high and mighty, without sidestepping confrontations to your claims by going back to it's just sin and that's all there is to it.

If it's just sin and that's all there is to it, why are you grasping at secular straws to prove how bad it is? Just say it is against your beliefs and you can't prove it is bad in any tangible way and move on. You'll get more respect that way than what you do.

I didn't say it don't happen in "real" marriages, I said there would be more of them. Geez, don't anyone read?

Marriage equality is not the law in Florida. If it were, and these two women were married, there would be no battle in the courts aside from the normal custody battles..

So.. the reason this is such a huge deal is because same sex couples CAN NOT get married in Florida..

Therefore, your premise is completely wrong, and you're just babbling out your a** again.

True there would be more of these incidents. There'd also be twice as much love in the families that don't suffer from those kind of problems though, simply because there will be more families.

It makes no difference what orientation the couple fighting for the kid are, it certainly doesn't justify stopping people from getting the chance to make a go of things.

That's what you always do when you're confronted with facts that don't fit your narrow racist views. You just stick your fingers in your ears and shout "la la la la la, I'm not listening"..

I unblocked you and cinnabuns because I had gotten bored with the religious stuff.. but I see that you're both still singing the same note as you were before.
