One of several articles about the inquiry:
https://www.cnn.com/2016/12/09/politics/obama-orders-review-into-russian-hacking-of-2016-election/index.html

Yeah, OK, so maybe they hacked into email and information systems - that's bad.

Maybe they revealed dirty secrets about Hillary - too bad.

There is no evidence that Russia directly hacked into and changed votes.

It was still the American people that went to the polls and pulled the lever, pushed the button, or checked the box.

It was the American people that chose to believe Hillary and her cartel are the only corrupt politicians in DC and voted accordingly.

It is now the American people that have to face the consequences of believing everything they read - or more appropriately - believing if they don't read it, it doesn't exist.

Maybe this is a way for the Dems to poke the bear before they run out of the cave!

Remember the s***-storm the previous GOPer-prez left for the incoming administration.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

The ironic thing is that while Donald huffed and puffed about rigged elections all the way through the primaries and general, his team is the first one to denounce this report. Of course they also say they have one of the most decisive electoral victories in history (sure, if 12th in line for the least decisive electoral victory in American history counts as such).

The report also finds that they hacked the RNC as well but didn't release anything. And you know there's dirt in there.

I think it's actually pretty clear that the Russians tried to influence the election. Hacking, paid online posters, association with wikileaks... their hands are all over it.

I don't know if the effect can be quantified, but I do know it would be foolish and careless to dismiss it out of hand.

I believe Trump over the CIA.

After all he has much more experience with foreign counter intelligence than our 17 intelligence agencies.

The CIA can't be trusted.

It was created by Obama and used by Hillary to justify the Iraqi war... f___king George Soros!!!

Poor Putin...he is a cuddly misunderstood teddy bear.

That's why he's only taking the foreign intelligence briefings once a week.

Pence must be stupid because he takes them almost every day

I wonder how long it will take for the republicans to try to impeach him and put Pence in his place.

Ha.

And we have a bunch of Russian spam tonight. Not as funny as the bad grammar viagra spam. Since I can't actually read Russian.

Also, I can't take anyone seriously that claims another poster on line is a paid "soros operative" when they have a disagreement

I'm not sure any of this is relevant. But damn, what the f*** ?!

The Reid letter, chao for transportation... McConnell not removing himself from confirmation...

Damn, and keep in mind spousal hires are a thing in my work world.... and yet this is damn shady.

And, speaking of irony, Hillary spoke at length about how Trump's failure to promise to accept the election result no questions asked was a threat to democracy. She even spoke of how the peaceful transition of power was a vital component of democracy. Of course, that was before she lost and started blaming the Russians and pro Hillary people started rioting.

This is a genuine question: Did she come out and tell the rioters to pull their heads in and respect the democratic process? This is a genuine question too, as I honestly do not know. I assume she did as she was so adamant about the whole peaceful transition thing, but I never heard about it.

Agreed. The CIA has a proven track record of being untrustworthy. The CIA being involved in drug trafficking during the Reagan years to help fund a terrorist organisation in Nicaragua is not their only interesting activity.

I wouldn't go that far, but when western media demonise someone as vociferously as they have demonised Putin, I immediately become suspicious. When I see that western governments appear to be acting in ways that oppose the Russians in the Middle East and are not in my vested security interests as I perceive them to be, my suspicion mounts.

That would tend to suggest that your suspicions are mounting against Trump...he trust Russia and Putin far more than his own government agencies.

And as to how he treats the Middle East...Trump talks big, but takes in a lot of money from Saudi Arabia.

So do I at the moment. Either the USA has had a succession of idiotic leaders who have ignored the advice of their intelligence agencies, or, their intelligence agencies are useless.

I will watch with interest to see what he does *IFF* he actually makes it to the White House. He probably will, but I am not going to bet my left testy on it if you know what I mean...
