I am currently on the drug accutane for acne treatment,it is known worldwide for its dangerous side effects that it can have on a person,if you have had any side affects whilest on this drug you can share them here,or if you have any thing about the drug to share,

Normally I never had breakouts but all the sudden it was out of control and very bad.
I took Accutane for 10 months. During those 10 months I was very emotional and irritable. I've gotten like that before, so I'm not 100% certain it was from the medication.. but I was just always on the edge of my emotions. I felt highly paranoid at times of people around me..
But I never had suicidal thoughts or thought about endangering myself or others.

I have to say though in the end it was worth it. Those side effects disappeared within the months after I stopped the treatment.
I rarely have breakouts and if I do it's maybe one breakout in a month if at all.

ok man, thanks, that is very similar to my case, although im on the course for about 5months i can say ive seen a great improvement, the odd breakout now and then, but nothing i cant handle yanno.

Ive never had the suicidal thoughts and terrible side effects described on the leaflet that comes with the box.The most i suffered from is dry lips and skin and a moody like attitude,i also noticed that i developed a slight tempor, but once again nothing icant handle.Im looking forward to the end result,

Thanks again.

Oh yeah, I thought the dryness was the worst of it!
I was using my lotions 3x in a day on my face... it was awful. Went through soo much chap stick too. I started it during the summer so my sweating when outdoors irritated my dry skin and it was getting red... urgh I looked so awful I don't know how my fiance stuck with me!
it was so dry there were days I coulnd't even use cover up cause it would look all flaked

I was supposed to be on it for a minimum of a year. But I had to get Gall Bladder surgery and was told I can't take it anymore because it effects how my skin will heal. Unfortunately I was put in the hospital unexpectedly and didn't have time to stop the meds in time. I stopped taking them 3 days prior to my surgery. They did the surgery microscopicly so it's very small incissions, but I scared from it where the stitches were when they said under normal circumstances I wouldnt.

But I would take it all over again given the choice. It's not for everyone but it sure did work wonders for me.

I'm glad to hear you're not having any bad side effects and that it's working nicely.

my son was on it, needed blood work I think every 3 months?

NO side effects at all, and his acne cleared up big time!

-all drugs have serious side effects, so don't worry......................he was 15 when on it.

fabulously it did for him.............it was the only thing that worked.

got a face job done, like it?

Because I was female I had to go every single month before they would renew my prescription. Not only where they checking for problems, it was also to make 100% sure I was not pregnant.

I was so annoying to have to make up time at work if I got stuck at the lab in the morning....

But like I've said before, I would do it all over again for the results I got.

No worries lol.
My fiance took accutane prior to meeting me. He had to stop taking it because it was having the depressed/suicidal thoughts effects on him. He said it was clearing up his skin but at the same time he couldn't stand being in the state he was in. His skin didn't clear up completely after stopping because he stopped within the first few months.

I had another friend who took it and said the worst of it for her was the dry skin while she was on it and for a few months after she stopped it. Her skin is wonderful & better than ever.

Like all other medications I guess side effects vary. Some people get no side effetcs while others get some or the full blown storm.

Probably!! I'm just relieved to be off it. The more time that goes by you're on it you will see even better results. Just get yourself some good moisturizer. Top shelf stuff

Aveno makes a really good one that I still use. I'll have to get the exact one from them that I have for you.

Funny enough it was just within a few months of after I stopped taking the accutane is when I saw most of the positive results.

But I wasn't able to get my eye brows or anything else waxed for almost 7 months after I stopped. I got my eye brows waxed after a month and it irritated my skin and temporarily scared. It was like a layer of the skin was pulled off my face! It healed. I kept tweezing.

Just a heads up incase you do any kind of waxing....
