I don't think you'll ever find a correlation between having red hair and having an unusually fierce temper.

my girlfriends mother is a red head and boy can she go off sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't take much but once she goes f***in run for the hills... you don't wanna be around this one.

But on another note simply by being born with a certain hair colour doesn't mean that by changing your hair your personality will change with it. you may feel more confident, but the essential you will not change. Your personality is something that you are born with and it is shaped through life experiences... how you react to different situations will not change simply because you have changed your hair colour. Its whats within you that makes you who you are...

I think it's something to do with not enough of the world population possessing the gene to maintain it.

Yea but there are people who will randomly have red hair after like 5 generations of no1 in their family having it...it's pretty hard to predict...

I don't know, that's like saying all blondes are dumb. I have met some high tempered red heads and then some stupid blondes..they're all stereotypes though..dumb and high tempered people come in all different hair colors..

Being a natural red-head I don't completely agree that we have a fiery temper, although my boyfriend may disagree lol. That is the stero-type though that we are quick tempered and a bit freaky.

I'm a natural redhead , not a carrot top or anything but just red hair. I do have the bad temper that is most often associated with red heads but I kind of think that's just a myth and us red heads live up to our reputation. I keep my hair mostly highlited now days because I like the lighter look for me at my age but yeah my roots run red. I have the freckles to go with it as well and a fair type skin.

alot of old irish writing equates red hair with strenth and what not.
...i just think its pretty hot.
