I thought this would be a great way for anyone who has recovered or is recovering from an eating disorder to help/vent about their struggles and success stories.

I suffered from Anorexia 3 to 4 years. I have been eating properly and at a normal weight for the last 2 and half to 3 years. It was a very difficult struggle, but I did it! If anyone doesnt want to post on here anything, you can PM me and I would love to help you in any way possible!

I have to say one thing, and I'm sorry for going off topic, but i've seen so many commercials for it that I thought this was about erectile dysfunction

I developed Anorexia when I was 14 yrs old. I suffered from it for many years. You are NEVER "cured" from this condition..(I know) However, I have been recovering from many years now...(Thank God for therapy and having children). Unfortunately, my 8yr old daughter is starting to suffer from Anorexia now. We are trying to help her with her self esteem issues, but I fear it is going to be a long road to recovery for her.

I understand what you mean about it being a "difficult struggle" and it always be a struggle not to turn back to it. I too am here if anyone wants to vent or has questions about it.

By the way, I admire you for being able to talk about such a sensitive subject...

My sis in her teens suffered bouts of anorexia and bullemia...she was diagnosed manic depressive and was stuck on anti depressants for ever...she weaned herself off them and is now a healthy weight and has been for a few years, it'll never leave her but she's in control of it now not the other way round.

If it's white, sticky and not yours dont touch it.

Hi

I had a friend that suffered from anorexia and bullemia. She was also alcholic. Thankfully she is much better now and leading a normal and healthy life.

One observation that I would like to put out though is that sometimes I would tell her that she looked "thin", meaning unhealthily so. If I had meant it as a compliment, I would have said "slim". However, she would take my concerned comment that she was "thin" as a compliment.

I think sometimes you have to be a bit blunter (without being rude) and tell them that they look "unhealthy".
