or whatever you choose to call them.

Have any of you been to one? What's it like, if you could offer advice to someone who has never been what would it be?

In no particular order:

Check the organizing website for guidance.

Bring/take water.
Possibly take some snacks.
Use public transportation to get there.
Bring your ID.
Don't bring things like purses, lots of money, lots of credit cards (use a small backpack if you think you need it).
Don't take drugs or booze.
Don't bring weapons.
Be alert (even peaceful demonstrations can turn bad and ass-tards are everywhere).
Be polite even to ass-tards.
Go with friends.
Have a place to meet at the end (kind of an "emergency' meet-up location if you get separated from friends.
If things go wonky, make sure each of you (your group) has a "battle buddy" so no one gets left behind.

If it is in a foreign country, even if it is something you believe in, consider not going. If things go wonky in a foreign country, very bad things can happen.

I have been to many of them....

Always bring your own water and such snacks etc...

Know the reason you are there...what are your wants and why you are protesting..don't want to look like an uneducated fool when asked why you are protesting...

decide before you go if you want to engage with what ever media is there..do you really want to be that person who's picture is splashed all over TV for the next week?....

familiarize yourself the laws or/and rules for where you are going.. some parks don't allow home made signs... some no food etc....
