most people associate gene wilder with three movies that produced, written and directed by mel brooks.

" the producers ", " blaze saddles " and " young frankenstein " probably the three most funniest movies of all time.

I was try to think of achievements of gene's life than movies. he hardly did a lot of tv except for his stent on " will & grace " as " mr. stein ".

gene's partnership with Richard pryor in films, was a solid good relationship, and it seem gene and Richard had good close friendship. they made four movies together. " stir crazy " and " silver streak " were the best of four movies.

gene wilder's best performance was in " willy wonka & the chocolate factory ", you have see it and rent the dvd. he is brilliant in it.

I always have enjoyed gene's works, that will be some of gene's movies on this week and weekend on cable. or go and rent some of movies on dvd.

gene is worth watching, you want something that is pretty funny to watch, gene is your man.

rest in peace, gene!

As a kid I saw Willy Wonka countless times

He was wacky and humorous, not just doing stupid s*** like (IMHO) so many others do ...

NPR talked with one of his nephews. They said at Gene's request & the family's he did not want kids to know of his illness. Not for anything of vanity but because everyone knew Wilder as Willy Wonka when he would go out. He did not want people telling their kids about the illness which would cloud their enjoyment with sadness or confusion. Thus he was able to give & receive nothing but smiles & wonderment these last three years.

R.I.P.

He was one of those comic actors who had a very serious side just beneath the surface and a lot of people don't acknowledge the important impact he tried to have on race relations with the string of films he did with Richard Pryor (and in Blazing Saddles).

I think Stir Crazy and Young Frankenstein were probably my two favorite Wilder movies.

I grew up as a little kid watching Gene Wilder films in the 70's. I especially remember him from Willy Wonka and Blazing Saddles. Sad he's past on. He had a good long run and to make it 83 is doing pretty well. I'm sorry he was struggling with Alzheimer's, horrible disease. I'm not sure that there's a heaven or not, but if so my he and Gilda find each other. When Robin Williams passed it really hit me sorta hard. I thought about him off and on for a few days.
