Does Pornography perpetuate the objectivity of women, or is it a bit of harmless fun?

I'm not sure where I stand on the issue, I sorta agree with both sides of the argument, wondered what other people thought.

Psychologically, it affects how you think about sex. I've only heard of one study mentioned and it established that viewing it made you want your partner less sexually. This is in regards to the male half anyways. From what I remember of it's mention it didn't address females.

I understand where feminists come from when they moan on that it's lowering to women, but I mean, at the least people listen to the woman in the pornos moaning.

I mean obviously in my life I have seen pornography (if any male claims they haven't they are lying) but I find it quite strange. I don't find it particularly erotic, though I do understand the apeal.

The reason I don't like it is because the women who apear in porn films/magazines are always these airbrushed, big breasted, blonde, tall, skinny bimbo's who don't actualy look real. I mean if I wanted to see a picture of a naked woman, I would want someone who looks real.

Thats why I find it dificult to comprehend why apparently 70% of the internet is porn. How can it be that popular?

Sex sells. It's that simple.

I'm not really into porn. I just don't buy into it. The whole scenerio just seems fake to me. Not that I judge people who watch it. I'm more literal I guess. Give me a good book or erotica story and I'm good.

To be honest, these models you see on the front of lads mags, I wouldn't have sex with if I had the chance.

I'm attracted to real looking women, not these plastic barbie look a likes. Thats why I don't understand why these magazines don't have normal looking women on the covers.

i don't see anything wrong with it, as long as everyone is consenting adults it's perfectly fine to me morally.

i've seen porn obviously, its all a little too cheap and crap too watch in my mind, but sometimes the mood does take you to see sexy pictures, its pretty natural stuff.

but you're right 70% dedicated to porn is suprising, i also don't know why people would pay money to go onto a porn site

it really degrades women & makes them feel inferior.

to bad men don't realize this, if married or have a girlfriend......................and no, its not because I am old or a prude.

Most women feel this way at any age.

Any industry that thrives on looks has that kind of vicious unrealistic standard. Porn is erotic fantasy scripted. Key word being "fantasy".

If that was true, then why do they do it?

I think she means women generally, rather than the women who are actualy in the porn.

I'm doing an essay on feminism at the moment, and so thats why I started thinking about pornography, not something i've given a great deal of thought about to be honest.
