I am white. I was standing in line at a bar last night when i felt a hand on my shoulder give me a slight shove. I turned around to see 5 blacks kind of smirking, one of them hiding his face. I didnt do or say anything because honestly i was scared. But it pisses me off that some blacks act like f***ing 6 year olds. I realize i should have said something, but i was just stunned. I condiser myself a socially and politically conscience human being, and truth be told, i have more respect for blacks than most upper and middle class whites. But it pisses me off that SOME blacks just seem so goddamn irresposible. It pisses me off that so many people are working so hard for equal rights, and yet it seems a lot of them dont care.
I feel im getting sucked into stereotyping blacks, but im not going to ignore facts either.
Is this a case of a few spoiling it for all or what?



P.S. I realize this is a very minute case of racism, if you can call it that, but it pissed me off, and I feel like most of my friends dont care about social issues to the extent i do.

It confuses me why people are like that. I don't understand humans for the most part anyway. I respect blacks and others greatly too, and when you try to respect and they don't do the same to ou...why do they do that?

I think there are always going to be irresponsible people no mater what race

idiots. race doesn't have anything to do with it in my opinion.

I have to deal with the same thing in the school that I go to. There are many nice black people I know, and there are many not nice ones I know. I hate stereotyping, but when a select group inside of a 'minority' is being moronically immature. And I'm not a racist person, but when stuff like that happens, I can't help but feel angry.

I agree with you. It's so childish sometimes, just because they were treated badly in the past doesn't mean that it's like that anymore, in fact, I think it's the exact opposite in some cases!

Why the hell can't people get along? When did the difference between humans even matter? You're all one and the same, although you may have different colors and such. Every other species on Earth can handle their kind because and colors and such, but why not humans? Pathetic, sometimes.

Yeah it is pretty childish. My friend was walking down a street, and I guess a lot of black people live on that street and she was just walking down there to go to her cousin's house, minding her own business and there was this black guy sitting on his porch and when my friend walked by, he said something like "Stay the f*** away from here you cracker" or something like that. She didn't even do anything or say anything to him to provoke him, that's what really bothers me. It sucks that people are still like that. But I guess people are going to be ignorant and stupid no matter what race you are.

All of you call the people who yelled at you and pushed at you BLACK people. And now there is your problem. Why don't you just start with changing that attitude. They are just people. Withes push and yell, Asians do also. No need to call them by their color, that is the thing that causes racism. You are still seeing a difference and you are pointing it out too.

Indeed, the problem spans across many cultures. Humans by nature get snappy and testy. It's not a racial issue, it's an issue of humanity.

As for the why can't we get along concept, that is ALSO a human flaw. Conflict, nomatter how damaging is a primitive concept that we hold dear to our hearts. The truth is, if there was nothing but peace, we'd get bored, and eventually SOMEONE would start a fight, thereby restarting the warish cycle.

It's simple human nature, whether good or bad, it just is.

Does this mean unkindness is justified? Absolutly not, in my opinion. Though, don't think for a minute we would survive happily without some type of conflict in our lives.
