I'm gonna make a rating site, that will include rating pics of themselves, but also of their work, such as poems or whatever. I need a good domain name, but of course all the "rate me" variations are all taken, lol. Help? I've done a search, and "whatcha-think.com" is available, is that any good, or will the hyphen cause me to lose traffic?

That would be a top domain, right under HotOrNot.com and RateMeNude.com.

the "yer" in there adds a subtle "backwoods" tone to things, nice work!

are hyphens a problem? I've always been told to avoid them if you can, since it makes telling someone your web address more awkward.

It's a bit awkward, but not a problem beyond that. Some very very popular websites have hyphens in their domain names.

I'm trying to think of some examples where that's the case...can you give me a couple?

Only one I know off the top of my head is penny-arcade.com (PA is the internet's biggest webcomic). It is a bit old-fashioned.
