If you believe Government statistics over 40,000,000 fetuses have been aborted since Roe V Wade. The madness has to stop. Legal murder is immoral and suicidal to the American society and an abombination to God.

immoral to whom? you.
its only a abombination to god if you believe in him.

Are you one of those people who believes in no absolutes. Murder is immoral in any society. As for your comment on God. If you don't believe in God, then write me and tell me how hot it is down there as that is probably your after-life destination.

This is not a discussion on whether or not abortion is wrong! There are plenty of threads already where one can discuss that.

The topic starter is after advice. Please take your abortion debate elsewhere

I am so sorry that your going through this. I don't know you but my heart goes out to you. I have one grand child myself and she is everything to us. I pray that your daughter changes her mind.

I try to never get involved in these abortions threads because I do not intend to argue with people until I'm blue in the face unless there's a chance that it will change their mind. I've learned that with abortion , views are so strong that most people can not be swayed one way or the other.

On this one though I must express my views as a both a mother and a grand mother without getting into a brawl with someone over my beleifs.I do not support abortion, however I do support my children in whatever decisions they make in their life. Even if it means that I will have to accept that my child wants to have an abortion , then I"d have to be there for her no matter what.

I have a grandbaby seven months old and he's the sweetest thing in the world to me but I know it would be hard if Ashley had decided that she did'nt want him. It would also be hard for her to see him with me and he'd be part of the family but not known as her son.

There are so many emotions wrapped up in this one , you just have to do the best you can to live with whatever decison your daughter makes.

Thank you ninky40 and wildchild. I called my daughter and told her I support her 100%. Even told her I would take her to the clinic and not give her any grief over her decision. I also am against abortion. As a Grandmother it breaks my heart that I will never be able to see or hold my Grandchild, baby's first smile, first steps, or hear her call me Grandma. But at least I know that I did all I could to save my Grandchild. I grieve for all the baby's that have gone before and those yet to come. Also for the women who have to make such a hard decision. Again Thanks to everybody for their replies.

I love pro lifers.. you never see them in place like war zones or out side grave yards with there banners "pro life" stopping people from dieing.. nope there outside abortion clinics, telling scared girls that what there doing is wrong, and not letting them make there own choices.. i think there the sick people, making people think the way they do.. so for every child thats born into a family that doesnt want the child or they cant afford to have a child or the medical reason they cant have a child, you can fit the bill pro lifers.. you can bring the child up..

i think you shouldnt focus on the fact youre loosing a grandchild, but considering she confided in you it should be best to support her and help her because if you insist on making an issue of it you'll end up loosing a daughter as well

Maybe she doesn't want to give the child over to you because it would be awkward for her every time she saw it. And then one day if you decided to tell the child who it's real parents were the child might get the feeling it was unwanted and feel depressed.

Either way, I agree with everyone it is her choice and if she feels she cannot provide correctly for the child, she shouldn't have it and is making a rather intelligent decision.

Oh and dlsharp, keep your religion to yourself, don't tell people they're going to rot in hell if they don't believe in god, because please, I'm sure we've had enough of that critisism and find it rather drab and repetitive after a while.

Considering the circumstances, it seems far better for your daughter to have the child and allow you responsibility over it (I say 'it' because I don't know the child's gender - maybe that's the reason your daughter uses the same term; besides, at such an early stage of growth the foetus has no gender anyway). If you and your husband are capable of supporting a child, then that is what should be done. If you were much older, I would be inclined to say it's a bad idea, but that isn't the case and I see no reason why you shouldn't adopt it. However, ultimately the choice is your daughter's, and she may be very uncomfortable with the idea of having a child but not raising it herself.

its her decision. im sure she is having a difficult time already, with making her decision. she probably has many reasons why she does not want her baby. just try not to be forceful and pushy with her. go out to dinner and sit down with her, one on one, and talk to her about why she choses not to have her child. be open and respect her choice. be there for her and support whatever she decides. good luck!

I personally dont agree with abortions but thats my opinion, but your daughter is well within her rights to get rid if she wants to. Your reaction to the news i find rather selfish imagine how she would feel watching you bring up a kid that she knows is hers, And then think about the kid.... how do you think it will feel when it finds out the reason why your bringing it up!
