I know abortions are so hard on everybody who has had one and is hard to talk about, but being on the other end as a parent who would give anything to not lose their Grandchild I just need to make sense of it all. Her abortion is Tuesday and it breaks my heart.

To me, I don't consider it a baby until it's @ the viable stage (after 3 months gestation). Viable, of course, means that it has a chance of surviving outside of the womb. Before the 3 month gestation period, it would never survive outside of the womb.

That's why abortions are illegal after the first trimester (after 3 months gestation).

Although, even after 3 months if a woman decides she doesn't want the baby, she could always:

*takepills
*"accidentally" fall down the stairs
*go on "vacation" to another country to do it
*ect. ect.
