Singapore's world cla** performing arts theatre - built at a cost of S$500 million (US$350 m)...

Since its opening 3 years back, I've tried and tried to find something remotely appealing about this structure - to no avail.
Strikes me more like an atrocious structure masquerading as Modern architecture.... give us laymen a break!! sheesh...

Looking at this, I've never agreed more with that cliched statement : "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder."

Spot the difference!!

Well I a more gothic girl. Old European churches with arches and domes and stonework. Those are where my heart is!

That certainly is different.
Looks sort of like a broken tea steeping thing, ooOoo its "gods" broken tea steeper that fell there after he used it to make tea on his extended sunday lunch.

Much as I'd like to say otherwise, it doesn't look good.

It might be some kind of aquired taste. I, myself am looking to be an architect and am studying at Thadius Stevens, and that is a very complicated structure to design and build, but i don't find it to be too attractive.

definately original

wouldn't mind seeing inside - see if allt those "fly eyes" textures on the outside translate to patterns of light on the inside? If it had some kind of function that could be cool - if it's just decorative then I'm a bit concerned??

If you saw the crap that they were building in my city, you would like this.

I agree with the early posters. I quite like the bridge that is supporting it
