I find milk in plastic bottles kind of gets crusty at the top opening. It's kinda gross I much prefer the cardboard cartons, it's also usually easier to tell when the milk has gone bad in a cardboard carton.

I think glass would be ideal, but it's not really an option here.

I've also heard in Canada milk comes in bags? That is just odd But I can't really pass opinion on it I guess.

I get milk in cartons.

I've heard about the milk bags and the fact they put the bag in the jug. They don't pour the milk into the jug, they cut a corner off the bag and put the bag in the jug.

To be honest with you, we get milk in plastic bottles as often as we get the cardboard cartons. It can go off as easily in one as the other, but I can tell you, the milk is far removed from the real thing you get from the cow Even the milk puddings don't taste the same when the fat is removed and all the additives and extras are present. Ever notice, there are certain own brand milks you can't even boil for long as it will curdle and spoil only.

I'm completely off drinking it, as absolutely hate the sight of it even.

yup, growing up, ours came right from the cow.
Now, we use the plastic jugs.
We did dry delivery of milk in the glass containers, but it
was not feasible.
We get the cardboard containers when we need special
milk for special temporary dietary/growth needs.

Home delivered milk arrives in glass bottles that are collected by the dairy on the next delivery, so presumably washed and reused. Regular supermarket milk is in plastic bottles that are collected by the council for recycling. Long life milk comes in a treated paper carton with a plastic liner. I don't think this is recyclable so I include these with ordinary rubbish. In our household all milk gets drunk well before the 'best before' date. Some country areas are being considered for a trial to resale 'raw' milk if the collection method is approved so keeping the natural healthy properties. This is allowed to be drunk only if unsold. However as 'air miles' become more in the public mind this may become more popular [and better for the consumer].

We can buy it in a carton or plastic jug, but it's way cheaper to get it in the bag
It's not odd it's normal
