The government has medicare and medicaid, which it tells the pharmacies which drugs they will pay for and how much of that drug they will pay for. They do not regulate the drug industry on how much they can charge for a drug. And most of Americans are not on these government health assistance plans, so it does not apply to them.
Private insurance companies also tell pharmacies what drugs they will cover and how much of the drug cost they will cover, and then make their clients pay a copayment to help offset the cost (usually 15 to 25 dollars depending on which inusrance company it is).
And if you don't have the Government assistance or private insurance (self owned or from your employeer), well then your screwed if you need medications, especially if they are only available as brand name. Most of those cost hundreds of dollars for a months supply, some cost hundreds of dollars for a few pills, and some cost thousands of dollars for one pill.
You don't even want to know how much some of the medications cost in the hospital. There are some drugs that cost over $10,000 per injection and the patient will need several injections.
So in short, a big problem in the US is prescription drug costs. Is that a problem, some say no, most say yes. What comes of it will be interesting with the newly elected democratic majority in Congress. They hate the drug companies and are looking for big wins to out shine the republicans, so decreasing drug costs will be a big win for them.

I've been in the hospital several times and been studied to try to find the triggers for my headaches. I've been told I have a co-dependancy and when things are going s**tty in my life , my head does'nt hurt , when things get better and everything seems to be ok then I develop a headache, thus meaning I strive well under pressure , take the pressure off and I have a headache. I don't put much merit in to that diagnosis and my present doctor does'nt buy it either.
If that's the case then your headaches appear to be induced psychologically by yourself.
There must be a way, therefore, to cure them psychologically. IMHO | | |
