I wouldn't want my boyfriend to use the pill, I was on it and it was the most awful experience.. I went to go visit my boyfriend while I was on them and it was terrible, we fought all the time, I wasn't affectionate like I usually am... It totally changed me and I got off it. I only wanted it to see if it'd help some acne but it didn't, so I didn't need it anyway. I wouldn't want my boyfriend to change from it, already had to go through that once with me.

That doesn't necessarly happen to everyone.
I haven't had that problem and been on it for over a year now. The only thing that it's affected was my weight.

You can't necessarily concieve from anal, however it only takes one sperm and they are very good swimmers. Vaginal secretions don't just stay in the vaginal canal during sexual activity and they are perfect for swimming in (thats they whole point of it!)So ok the chance of conception is greatly reduced, but its still there. And more to the point it is really even more important to wear a condom for buggery as again buggery will not stop STD's so if you're gonna wear a condom for anal whats the difference???

As long as it's not permanent. I would like to have a kid someday.

If it would be easier and/or safer for me to take it rather than my partner poppin birth control pills then I would take it without hesitation. Birth control pills can wreck havoc on some women. Some of my friends...man where they hit hard by them.

Well, if you're f**king random strangers you will still need a condom, so what's the point?

Some people are in monogamous relationships.

Lots of sexually active people don't fall into either "f**king random strangers" or "trying to have kids" categories, yanno.

Plus how bad would it suck to get a stranger pregnant? Condoms dont always work.

Yeah, that too. Condoms break or just plain don't work sometimes.

Unwanted pregnancies are a big problem. Anything that reduces the number of them is good, IMO.

Well, Jonnythan you have a point.
It does come in handy for people in relationships who don't want kids yet and such, but I don't think that it prevents STDS. So for total protection condoms are still the way to go.

Achne.
its not fun people, not fun at all!

I think theyre good if youre thinking of them as an addition.

They cant really and shouldn't replace condoms or we're gonna have even worse STDs than before. But as an additional safe measure or for couples in a stable ong term relationship, why not?

If this new pill or shot, whatever it is, does for men what it does for women, it won't go over well. The pill sucks, it makes you fat, grumpy, gives you acne, and if you forget to take it you're screwed. I think the best form of male birthcontrol is vasectomy. Not only is it so much easier than it used to be it can easily be reversed.
I know several people who have had them reversed and had children. The oh hell no part for men is the thought of someone actually cutting their testicles to do the procedure but c'mon you won't feel it with anesthesia, and when you compare that to what women endure during childbirth, it's like nothing. It's an outpatient procedure, you go home the same day, sit around watch t.v. with a bag of frozen peas down there...and you're fine in a day or two.
Of course it's useless for preventing STD's but I believe the thread was about birth control, not diseases.

Mee! Right enough, most guys probably won't take any responsibilty and leave the girl to take the pill and all that jazz.
