I appreciate that most of us are all learner drivers at some point in our lives but..... I swear they are getting worse now, I was never that bad. It has just taken me almost 45 minutes to travel a journey that should take 20 tops, I got stuck behind not one, not two, but three learners on my short journey home. Why do they need to slow down to 10 or 15 mph on every bend? Why do they need to stop dead at every roundabout even when the roads are perfectly clear? Why do they take so long to pull out of a junction, its almost as if they are waiting for a written invite. Ok, maybe im being a bit picky because I feel like crap today, but seriously, some of them are not fit to be taken out on the roads yet...

Some learners are great little drivers but I just happened to get stuck behind three complete turnips this morning, I guess living along the test route doesn't help.

Don't blame the learners, blame the instructors for taking them on roads that they aren't ready for.

I agree, I know they need practice around other road users but some are just down right dangerous to them and others alike.

I can only suppose the law about Keeping left applies in England like it does here, but when your in a 80 k zone (50 mph)and you get behind one with a Driving instructor next to them,it infuriates me to no end.

I actually stopped next to one at a set of lights, and complemented the young lady on how well she doing, then turned my attention to the Driving Instructor, and politely told him to hand his F ken licence back when they get to the RTA Office,he was rude to me for some reason, and wanted to know why, after informing him that the first rule of driving is Keep Left, the Bastard wound his window up.

its not just learner drivers!
I think some drivers need to retake tests or get eyes checked for colour blindness. As 2's in last couple of days ive been behind drivers who have stopped at red lights then 2 seconds later on reed driven off through them. So whats that all about have they had a senior moment goner colour blind or just lost it. So lets hope these learner drivers dont do that when they pass there tests like some who have past test do !!!

I also understand that young drivers need to learn and they make mistakes as they are just learning. I think at times the teachers are pushing them when thye are not ready for certain things. I think it is like anything else, there is always going to be good drivers and bad drivers.

Sometimes though I think the elderly drivers are the worst. I think after a certain age, people need a re test. I see many drivers who appear to be 70+ and they are worse than any young driver I have ever seen.

It's actually very, very off-putting and unnerving when someone is behind us, beeping and swearing. I've had a guy like that behind me before so I drove slowly on a road where he couldn't have overtaken or he'd have killed himself.

There are many people, Laura, who don't respect the fact that they were young drivers before and just learning. We have all been there.

I only get annoyed when they do something ridiculously stupid, like slam on the brakes and turn with no indication that they're going to turn. Or blow through a stop sign. Or change lanes without looking/signaling.

I was learning to drive once too, so I try not to be annoyed with the kid learning to drive. More with the driving instructors who don't seem to be paying attention to what they're doing at all
