A friend of mine is building a Latin American time line .

So far it's a bit sketchy, and he has pushed to time line back to the eleventh century. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Look up History of Latin America on the website Wikipedia. Remember to verify the information.

Look at the best known of the early native peoples. Aztec, Maya, Olmec, Toltec, & Inca. There are several more though.

First off, if anything on the time line is incorrect, we would like to know that. We're more interested in economic history that political history. We've noticed that Iberian history and Mexican history have some similarities. In Europe, the Christians came south and took over from the Arabs. In Mexico the Mexica came south and took over from I suppose the Maya, but I don't know that for sure. It might have been some intermediate group. We would like to compare media in Precolumbian Latin America with media in Europe. In Europe, information appears to us to have traveled when people traveled in armies or for church conferences, and Europeans used animals skins and later paper to record information. In Mexico, people recorded information on something made of bark, but we don't know much about it.
