I guess animal rights peeps like to argue about stuff like this but the reality is that People have to eat. I guess I'm desensitized to this because growing up on a farm where you eat what you grow. I've had part in similar things. though not in ma** quantities. The most humane thing we could've done to prevent the animal from suffering too much was a shot through the head where it could do the most damage to the brain with as little as possible to repeated shots. yeah it sounds bad but look at our ancestors.. some of your own grandfathers. they did this stuff in similar fashions. I'll just leave it at that so that someone can add their thoughts

Sure, people have to eat. But why do they have to eat pigs and cows and chickens?

because they taste good? i don't know.. it's not like we as humans just decided out of whim to start slaughtering animals for fun.. look at the African tribes.. what do they do. they Hunt. and they eat what they hunt. same thing with South American tribes or even the native american tribes pre manifest destiny. It's a necessity. We need proteins and with such a high population on this world. we can't just eat all the fish out of the water. and farmed fish are usually very contaminated and not as good as wild fish. sure we could eat bugs since there are so many but then the same thing would happen.. next thing we'll have are anti bug killing sentimentalists. you are all about having your meal but disagree with the reality of having it dead before you eat it. that's why there are people whose profession is animal slaughter for FEED. or I guess we could stick to just eating fruits and veggies. but agian. the demand for food is way to high for just certain kinds of foods. thus we have such diverse avenues when it comes to food

Meat is no longer required, there are plenty of alternatives. There is no reason to say we have to eat meat because we don't have to. Thats the beauty of being an omnivore.

Easier said than done, Bud! sure there are plenty of alternatives but then you have make room to cultivate and ultimately we end up doing the same thing we're doing right now

No need to make room, crop yields are improving all the time. In Europe we aren't even eating the amount we produce.

Even still, Easier said than done! convincing the world to do this will take some time and in the meantime.. starving countries will continue to starve and the fact that people still go out and hunt for their food still remains. I don't know about you but I love me red meats and fish and all the good eats we have.

I'm vegetarian, i used to eat all meat from chicken to veal but i just decided to stop, of course it did take a fair bit of will power and it is suprisingly difficult to avoid gelatine but i managed. It's not for everyone but my point is meat is not needed even if it is wanted.

I'll agree with you meat is not needed but it sure does help in a well balanced diet. but like any thing else. meat in excess is not good at all. even, still, too many people who like meat and to get everyone to change their minds and have them Will themselves to only eat Vegan meals.. Way easier said than done. I love Food. i do not discriminate when it comes to food! I love trying new things and enjoy cooking different cuisines. and so does much of the world.

kiddo, no everything you see on tv is reality. animal activists use guilt and evil to stop the meat industry.

meat from the market and restaruants are 99% from healthy animals who have the best care...

You are right about the TV - however, can you say what you mean by
the idea that activists "use guilt and evil"?

If flesh eaters feel what they do is morally acceptable, there
will be no guilt.
