Maybe, but most place a different value on animal rights than on human rights.

Thats only because they are human.

Clarify for me please...are you placing animal rights and human rights on the same level? In an earlier post you compared animal rights to Amnesty International. I'm curious.

It depends on what you mean by "level". AR theory claims that all animals' rights, be they human or nonhuman animals, should get equal consideration - but there is no expection of equal treatment. The latter would depend on the case in question.

AR theory also acknowledges that rights can clash and come into conflict with one another. However, the advantage of recognising nonhuman sentients as rightholders is that all involved are regarded as rights bearing and so decisions need to be made on that basis.

It's a human's RIGHT to eat animals and an animal's RIGHT to defend itself from getting eaten. You can't blame the animal if it can't defend itself. Survival of the Fittest.

I hope you do not apply the same "theory" to the issue of rape. I think you may have confused the notions of power and rights.

Right. Because we all know that human beings were born with the right to rape one another. Of course! That's what I was insinuating the entire time. Thanks for missing the point entirely.

Also, now that we're on the topic of 'power' and 'animal rights,' would you start yelling at a wolf for eating a small animal? It's every living things' right to survive.

It's all very good and well to say that, but you don't need to eat meat to survive. A wolf does need to eat a smaller creature.

Also a wolf does not have the capacity to make a moral decision about the killing of other animals, it probably doesn't even know that this other animal has a conscience whatsoever.

I mean everyone has the right to choose, but it's f**king anoying when Meat eaters act as if being a vego is stupid and unnatural. Let us make our own decisions, I mean we don't go round making you feel guilty for eating meat, so could you please not ridicule our moral decisions?

The OP isn't a vego, and Rogy is on a forum about not eating meat.

However, be he vego or not, he's still trying to tell people that eating meat 'is wrong' when our ancestors have done it for so long and I really doubt that animal rights and rape fall under the same category as Rogy describes it. Besides, the only time I ever tried to convince someone to eat meat was with my best friend and that was in a joking way.

He wasn't saying eating meat and rape where comparable, he was pointing out that your logic equated them as the same thing.

Your philosophy on why we should eat meat could be applied to rape.

Thats what he was saying.
