There was an article in the paper this morning about a mass rally by radical Muslims which is supposed to be held on 31st October. The rally has been organized by a fanatical group called Islam4UK, who want sharia law to be imposed all over Britain. Mentioned was the fact that their website has a photograph of what Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square would look like topped with a minaret. I found their website and it makes interesting reading. Apparently the Statue of Lord Nelson has to go because they consider him a 'fornicator' and on a banner at the bottom of the page they have stated that the march is 'to let the people of Britain know that Islam and the Shari'ah is coming to them very, very soon'. I'm all for freedom of speech but this is a little worrying. Your thoughts?

Having read a little further, I came across what looks like a not particularly veiled threat to writer Sebastian Faulkes. Is this Salman Rushdie all over again?

I don't go to other countries and complain or insult their religions by telling them everything they do is wrong in my beliefs....It is about time the government got tough on domiciled britons who choose to force their beliefs on our population...for us to the same in China or any Muslim country would end up in arrest and in some cases excecution...Our Country Our Laws Dont like it Piss off to a country where you can live with your beliefs x

Reading through the website was unsettling. A lot of people had commented on the various articles and posts and most of them were angered at what was being proposed. I know that this is the extreme side of Islam but it still makes chilling reading.

If it's a mass rally of radicals then that would be a good opportunity for the police to move in and start cracking heads. If they are all gathered in one place then it can't be passed up.

Then they'd start on about human rights.
