I'm only 18 and just venturing out into the world of business & finance, anyway i was just wondering if ?30,000 is a good salary
I myself do not smoke or drink, or have any other activities really that would spend that much of it, i would just being paying for the obv, water rates, electricity, heating etc, and of course Sky TV
anyway i was just wondering if this was a good salary

because I also want to rent for a period and then eventually buy a house abroad
anyway
help would be amazing! :]
Thanx

30,000 is fair but it depends whereabouts you live as the cost of living varies from area to area and so the salary varies in accordance.

?30k is good, but I'm curious as to what you're going to be doing at 18 that enables you to earn ?30k.

?30,000 is pretty bloody good. Pretty bloody effing amazing if you're 18 and making that kind of money! When I was 18, I was on less than 10k.

The national average wage in the UK is actually below that, somewhere around the 23 - 25,000 mark.

Renting in London can be pretty expensive, though. Depending on the area, you're looking at 600-900 per month just for a one bed flat, and of course this doesn't include council tax, electrcity, gas or water! My sister's currently renting a double room for ?450 per month, excluding bills.

I think you're thinking about it too much lol. Rents and stuff might drop sometime in the next 3 and a half years lol.

hmm well i'd be looking to rent in Kent, nowhere near London i don't like it, also i would want to have a flat mate/house mate or whatever to share the rent and utilities, and like tv bills with :]

?30k is more than most doctors earn in their first 2 years (foundation years before specialising)

Excellent point!

Very few graduates earn more than ?20k when they first finish uni. My sister's on about 24.5 and she graduated two years ago, with a degree in accounting. I've looked around, and I fully expect to earn less than that when I graduate next year. Probably doesn't help that I'm doing sociology

Doctors in their first 2 years after uni will earn about ?22k, less than a nurse!
