OK, my computer (pc) crashed and most data was lost. We were lucky but one problem remains. My ipod nano's (3rd generation) itunes data is gone. The 600 songs remain on the ipod but can anyone help me find a way to transfer them back on to itunes?
Apple is no help and if I knew how horrible their lack of tech support really was I would have not stayed with their ipods.

That link looks like it would work.
This is why I don't like Ipods, I would rather use something that works as an external drive as standard. That way you don't have to use Itunes and you can just drag stuff on and off.

With a landline and
wifi why would I be offline?

I recently transferred the songs on my ipod to a new laptop. I used the instructions in the Apple Itunes help menu. It didn't transfer all of my music though. One thing I hate about itunes is all the anti-sharing protection they embed. It would be great to just be able to drop and drag songs on and off your ipod. I PAY for ALL my music, so I shouldn't be limited on how many times I transfer music from one computer to another, or how many times I burn a song to disc. Of course, for every person that doesn't "file share" there are thousands who do.

This is how I feel. I would suggest buying a mp3 player rather than an Ipod and using a different music store (Emusic, Bleep etc) which gives you DRM free mp3s.
