Basically, this woman (age 25) hid a full-term twin pregnancy from her parents and gave birth in the family home in the bathroom
She then proceeded to smother both boys until dead so her parents wouldn't hear them cry. Then she hid them in a laundry basket until her father found them.
She's been arrested and being medically (and hopefully psychologically) evaluated.

My theory is, given her age, her parents must have been abusive in some way to make her that scared (as a grown woman) to hid a pregnancy and then kill her children. The abuse probably lead to psychological damage that made her severely fear her parents.

Or it's as simple as she didn't want to be a mother and took care of the "problem".

This is more common than we realise. Often the woman claims to be scared of the reaction of her parents when in fact she cannot come to terms with pregnancy or childbirth and keeps the entire thing a secret in the hope that nobody ever finds out.

I wonder if when this happens and nobody ever finds out if the woman manages to completely block it from her recollection.

i remember where i live there was a case of a mother who gave birth in the toilet of a B&B, her boyfriend requested a pair of scisors from the staff there- took them to her to cut the cord and they dumped the body of the baby in the wastepaper basket. it had to be determined if they killed the baby or if it was stilborn i was working for the police at the time and was there when the call came in. so sad that a mother (in this case certainly) felt it necessary to murder her twins without considering alternatives

Maybe. But I got the impression from the article she was scared of her parents to find out.

That's what she wants us to 'think'.

And she worked in a pediatric dentist's office (for God's sake, of all places)..
This is just too disturbing...Why didn't she just give them up for adoption??
It boggles the mind.

Honestly, being scared is more of a plausible explanation than anything else other than metal illness. And I think usually its' religious and social situations that make it scared. I've heard hundreds of cases like this from middle eastern and other countries where to have a kid out of wedlock is shameful, to have had sex before marriage is taint and you become a social outcast, where parents literally threaten and scare you with the life of God in their hands.

I would be lying to say that I haven't had similar thoughts if I ever got pregnant at young age and had to tell my parents. No, I never went as far as to actually think that I would kill, but to have the baby and put him/her for adoption secretly, yes, I've had that thought, because I have been that SCARED to face society afterwards.

This is really a sad article. I do hope she's evaluated. How can someone smother little babies without any remorse????

that must be a factor, i did not mean for it to sound like it wasnt. I know of a couple of women who had babies on the toilet who were too scared to tell parents. It turned out they were not "forced" into sex but certainly pressurised and the fact that they were pressurised into agreeing to sex made them so ashamed because in their minds admitting to bending to pressure was actually worse than the pregnancy and birth itself. If that makes sense.

We have the same law here in Washington. I know it's saved some babies already.

They pulled a baby out of a river here in Minnesota a couple of days ago. Somebody put her a bag along with 3 angel figurines and a couple other items and tossed her in the river. From the condition of the body they said the baby had been born that day. It had only been in the river 3 or 4 hours.

Every year they find 4 or 5 babies in the rivers up here. I guess it's pretty common.

There were probably lots of things she was afraid of. Unplanned pregnancies are fricken terrifying, probably more so if you're still living with your parents.
