Ok so I've known a few girls in my time who have told their boyfriends (who thankfully have never been me) that they were pregnant when they were not.

Any opinions on this?
It's not really something I can get statistics on but going on my own anecdotal evidence and judging by the size of this site there are one or two girls that have done it, so fess up!

Do you think it is an attempt to hold onto a failing relationship by adding a commitment that is inescapable or is it a test to see how the guy will react?
See if he's the man you thought he was?

Would you eer do it or have you ever been tempted to? As a woman do you feel this kind of action damages soceties view of all women?

I would never do that, its wrong. Lies don't make a relationship work, honesty does.

I did it when I was a kid. I didnt realise you had to have sex first

At was a desperate attempt to piss him off. I was about 8.

Its a throwback thing from the old days where you had to get married if you became pregnant. It was more common then to fake a pregnancy just to get a ring on the finger.

There are a couple of reasons girls do this.

1. they want to kick you in the nuts

2. they dont want you to think you can just have sex with them and walk away

3. they are hoping that you will love them.

I wouldn't do it but I do know girls who have, I also know girls who have purposely stopped taking the pill to get pregnant hoping their bf stayed with them, they did for a while but eventually split up, at the end of the day you can't trick or force someone to love you

No, I haven't. If the relationship is doomed and the guy doesn't want me, I'm not going to resort to lying, especially about something that serious. I don't think any woman should do it. It's pathetic!

No I didn't! We was together a couple of years before I got pregnant.

I agree its low cos having a baby doesn't make a relationship stronger and often in those cases the baby is the one that ends up suffering from it

The law says you cant marry until your 18 unless you have both parents consent, I have nothing to do with my dad so couldn't get his consent

Does that answer your question

I've never done it. I never would. There were a couple times I thought I MIGHT be and said something to the ex, but I was glad I wasn't.

And why would you do that? I know someone who did than claimed she had a miscarriage
