OK, first, don't tell me to go talk to the doc...because there are so many of them. My hubby was diagnosed with cancer in March. Squamous cell....which is a cancer that won't go away like other cancers. When we were talking to the doc, he said...OK, we're going to get you in for chemo treatments right away. This will BUY YOU TIME. This is when I told him to back up and explain the 'buying time' stuff. Chemo keeps the cancer contained....so it won't spread. The last time we were at the clinic, he said to my hubby 'looks like there should be about 2 more treatments. SO!!! Whats the deal? Do they just give him a certain amount of treatments.....sit back and see if it workks???? He still can't eat normal food and he's wasting away right in front of me.....and my 2 little guys. Anyone know about this kind of cancer? Please help...acidron is losin' it

That is so sad to see him loose weight and be wasting away.
I do know that with chemo you do loose weight.and its possible he will fight it.and then start gaining the weight again.
Dont loose hope. keep your hopes up.I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers

I'm so sorry. I wish I knew what to say about this.

I don't know much about cancer, but there's only so much chemo the body can take. Our options for actually attacking and destroying cancer are still highly limited.

I do suggest that you see several oncologists and get varying opinions. Do whatever it takes.

Found this: link [en.wikipedia.org]

Sounds like it's treatable, but I'm ignorant of this.

God i hate how helpful the doctors are with this stuff!!!

I understand how you must be feeling, they just dont give you the right kind of information do they?

Its always non commited kinds of answers to your questions and no actual assistance!

Where is the counseling for this kind of stuff?

Where is the doctor who will cut the s*** and just explain to you what the hell is going on!

Keep your chin up babe, and dont stop asking questions, eventually someone compassionate will come along to tell you all that you need to hear..

My thoughts are with you and your family

Do not let the Doctors intimidate you. You will have to be the voice for your hubby. MAKE them give you answers...even if they are not what you want to hear.

First, sorry to hear about the very difficult time your husband and family is going through.
Has he tried supplements and other natural therapies like aromatherapy? They can really help with pain, and make a person feel better.
Here are some websites with all free information that might help him at least feel a little better.

This one contains info about a supplement I highly suggest trying. Scientifically, it's been proven to reduce the growth rate of cancer cells.

On this site check out the info about aromatherapy and chlorella first.

This site is actually a free Ebook; well worth the time it takes to read or skim through it:

I'll keep your husband and family in my prayers.

I completely forgot about this when writing my post the other day. There is some hope for your husband to survive with ozone therapy. It's widely used in other countries as the main treatment for cancer and other diseases. I won't get into political details about why it's not very common in the USA yet. I'm not sure if it's available in Canada or not.
Ozone therapy kills cancer by creating an oxygen-rich environment in the body. Cancer only survives in anaerobic conditions. When performed daily in correct dosages by a properly trained person it's safe and usually has no side effects. This kind of treatment has very high success rates.
Here is a newsletter issue with basic information about ozone therapy:
link [natureisamazing.design.officelive.com] http://natureisamazing.design.officelive.com/Documents/15%20Ozone%20Therapy.pdf

If the direct link doesn't open the pdf document, click on the ozone therapy link on this page:
link [natureisamazing.design.officelive.com]
http://natureisamazing.design.officelive.com/variety.aspx

Inside the pdf document there are links to other websites that have more information about ozone therapy including where to find trained doctors.

Good luck, and I really hope this helps your husband.
