The doctor says that i cant eat after 7pm.

I have acid reflux and its inflames my throte and its formed nasty lesions on my tounge and swollen my taste buds. Its not painful execpt im a hypocondriact so it bothers me if i think that it bothers me. He perscribed me Zantac, ive seen sommercials for it, has anybody tried it? i hope that it works, and that the disgusting throate sores heal.and they are quite disgusting. But its better then an infection, and certinly better then cancer, although a binine tumor would have taken surgury, but then it would be gone quicker. But its the best diagnosis that i could get for such a disgusting thing(and its not as bad as some of the things you see online.)

I used to get acid reflux a lot and I took Nilstat (I think that's how you spell it). Most reflux tablets are pretty good but can make you constipated. Sorry I know it's gross haha.

In the end I got sick of being on medication so I just decided that every time I got reflux I would write down what I had eaten and avoid it. I find that dairy gives me the most reflux and also I find that it's a lot better to have a few smaller meals throughout the day and snacks between rather than 3 huge meals. I find that if I don't eat every couple of hours it starts again.

Zantac is a prescription, and it covers 80% of the cost, so thats good. But, i would need to see a doctor again to get another perscription, i went to the walk-in-clinic, so i would have to wait a while.I'll probably just save the bottle and refill it with the normal no-name crap. But it doesnt sound as good as ZANTAC, but it cant be helped.

Im probably going to have this for the rest of my life .

Zantac
Generic Name: ranitidine (ra NI ti deen)

Brand Names: Zantac, Zantac 150, Zantac 300, Zantac 300 GELdose, Zantac 75, Zantac EFFERdose, Zantac GELdose,
What is the most important information I should know about Zantac?

Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or porphyria.

Using Zantac may increase your risk of developing pneumonia. Symptoms of pneumonia include chest pain, fever, feeling short of breath, and coughing up green or yellow mucous. Talk with your doctor about your specific risk of developing pneumonia.

Zantac granules and effervescent tablets must be dissolved in water before you take them.
Your doctor may recommend an antacid to help relieve pain. Carefully follow your doctor's directions about the type of antacid to use, and when to use it. Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase the risk of damage to your stomach. It may take up to 8 weeks of using this medicine before your ulcer heals. For best results, keep using the medication as directed. Talk with your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 6 weeks of treatment.
What is Zantac?

Zantac is in a group of drugs called histamine-2 blockers. Zantac works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces.

Zantac is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. It also treats conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Zantac also treats gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn.

Zantac may also be used for conditions other than those listed in this medication guide.

I think I've had something like before, but only very occasionally, where late at night I'll wake up with this horrible feeling as if acid was coming up out of my stomach.

its worth seeing your doctor and ask him for several repeats...........you wont have this all your life, I watched what I was eating, and it was gone in under a year.

-no citrus fruits.....they have to much acid!--grapefruits and oranges.
-no spicy foods
-limit meals to small ones, but eat often
-milk is good for you it helps coat everything
-no caffeine
-dont smoke

hope you feel better, this will pass.
