Yu-Gi-Oh, when played properly (please, I mean through the rulebook not the TV show's ruleset) is a very good game, with a very good ruleset (outlined IN THE RULEBOOK.) I emphasize rulebook. You would be surprised at the number of people you see playing with rules copied off of the show.

The main problem is it can be slow paced: I have a deck made up entirely of magic and trap cards, and while I can defend against just about anything, winning takes some time.

Screw Pokemon.

hmm,
I'm not embarrassed,
I've played yu-gi-oh, i had a deck!
its a solid game, a bit convoluted now that so many cards are out, they've all gone that way.
it can only get so complex before it just turns boring and you have to become a weirdo and put all your money into it.

i saw cards on sale on ebay for like €50

True. Like the rule about 'removed from play!' That was originally intended to be an irriversible, final death. But now look! Cards to even bring those back, cards to counter those cards, and cards to counter those cards etc.

As for the 50 Euro cards, (I have no Euro sign on my keyboard, and I'm too lazy to paste it here,) I hate that. i mean, it's a good game, but they're PIECES OF CARDBOARD!!! (I get touchy!)
