I feel like he sold out...he's doing a popish theme...because he collaborated with Timbaland on the CD.
So its not much guitar, drums, and ROCK that I like...its all beats and crap that I don't like.
Of course its Chris Cornelle, I like all his stuff...so I'm not going to completely say I don't like it until I hear more songs...but still so far I'm disappointed. The first time!!!!
You can listen to his new songs here:

a collaboration with j timberlake on any level turns me off instantly!

He f***ed up with Audioslave. His first solo effort he didn't get enough attention for himself, so now he's doing what he thinks is good for that. I do want you to know though, Boob, that if you add up all the time I've listened to anything Soundgarden or Soundgarden-related it will come to a period of weeks. So these statements aren't easy for me to make. But I'm trying to make objective observations from what I know. So because of this I don't think I can bring myself to get Chris's new one. I think we already have his best work. And no one can take that away from us.
YES, YES, and YES. It's sad, but it's true. I think Chris is just trying to pay the bills. I think his best work was when he was in Soundgarden. I absolutely love him and always will, but Audioslave and his solo work just hasn't measured up.

Hey, thanks for the link to this thread. It's interesting to read everyone's opinion. I can totally identify with what you've said here.
If you've spent time at his site, then you know most fans there are feeling similar. However, some do say they like it. I guess he's hoping to "cross-over" and pick up a whole new fan base. Good luck with that.

I'd have to agree 100% with your last two sentences. I'm not sure about the ego thing though...I think he's just a very creatively driven artist that strives to keep growing and changing. However, I do believe he's had a few "Diva" moments. I think quitting Audioslave without going out on tour for the last release "Revelations" was extremely selfish and irresponsible. Not only to fans, but to anyone connected with making that album.

he's an amazing man and has no ego whatsoever. i happen to know him quite well and he's very humble. what the hell are you talking about??
temple of the dog was an amazing band, so was audioslave and soundgarden ... just because he wanted to have a solo career doesn't mean he f***ed up the band.

I personally think he was responsible for f***ing a few things up. But, I still think he has a distinctive and amazing vocal style. I believe I own almost everything he's ever recorded. The early Soundgarden material impresses me everytime I listen to it. He has enormous power and control. His ability to wail and hold the highest notes for the longest time is unsurpassed, IMO.
quote for truth ...
his voice is absolutely amazing.. how many male artists out there can reach the notes he can??
have you really met him too?

Aw, come on now. That's a bit harsh. I was kidding (kind of). Meeting him, and knowing him is two different things. But, hey if you do really know him, that's great.
