the point. Let's go back to the original: "I don't like to hunt, I don't plan to hunt, and I don't think I ever would want to hunt.
But, that doesn't mean I'm against it. I just wouldn't be able to bring myself to shoot an animal like a deer or even a lion. But some people depend on it for food, they sell meat to support their family. A lot of people depend on it."
So, this is nothing to do with nonhumans doing anything to other
nonhumans. The point is that some humans could justify their
involvement in child porn production for the same reasons given to
justify hunting.

Ok i see what you mean, people do indeed sell other people for sex and slavery.
Yes there are a lot of things happening against mankind right now in the world and throughout history.
My point about people placing the lives of humans above animals is more about if we was personally faced with the decision. If our home was burning down do you grab your children or your pets? If you are starving hungry, there is no food available, you are in a wilderness but have the ability to make fire and a gun and there is an abundance of rabbits, will hunger force you to shoot a rabbit and eat it?
We are lucky to not face a starving child every day, its the good fortune of where we happen to live. We are not all in war zones faced with genocide, we are not surrounded by a disease that can be cured if only we had the money.
I believe crimes against humankind are mostly done through desperation and greed, but only a small percent of our world population participate in these. I mean its bad enough in the first place and i am fully aware of the trafficking problems and forced prostitution, i dont live in la la land. But when you look at the whole picture overall people treat their own kind better than animals treat each other.
Thanks for that perspective. Its an interesting one.

Does the human population need controlling too? By the same method?

therefore i suport the killing of animals for my own benefit.
its also true that organised game hunting in africa has actually helped fund and support the saving of many animals that would now be extinct otherwise.
the thing i find disturbing is the aspect of the mentality of a person that wishes to kill something for fun, as a pastime.
even killing for meat is an unnessecary practice since we could produce vegtables more efficiently than meat, killing for fun strikes me as particularly barbaric and senseless.
According to animal rights philosopher Gary Francione, the best
excuse we have for eating flesh is that it tastes nice - and that
is not a morally sufficient reason...
