I talk to them like people.

You've been retired, but you say that you are 19 on the internets....Imma be honest...thats coming off a little creepy.

Just talk to them without even thinking about getting in their pants...because they will decide within a couple hours if you are or not.

Use your words... with your mouth.

Pretty basic.

Open your mouth, make sure that some sound resonate to make up some words

Tbh, just go with the flow, be flirty and jokey with them, albeit, not a good idea at work

I'm thinking he means retired from the dating scene
Considering he's been in a relationship for the past two and a half years

My advice is to forget you are trying to chat them up. Speak to them as if you was talking to your sister or aunty.

Compliments work well as long as you just give one or two, too many will make you look as if you dont actually mean it.

If you find yourself stammering or stuck for words go for the 100% honest approach. Laugh and say you are so rusty at talking to women, even if she wasn't interested before this will hook her to at least listen to you.

The three L's, mate.
Look; at them when you speak or listen, in the eyes. Ladies love long lingering gazes, they read into them what they want to, saves you finding out what it is!
Listen; Ladies like to talk, but most especially to be listened to. And when I say Listen, I mean LISTEN, put your brain in gear and actually think about what they're saying, it shows respect at the very least.
Laugh; Make them laugh, but don't play the stand-up comedian, that's counter-productive. Keep them smiling and so will you!
And the Golden Rule:
Don't EVER discuss ex's, yours or hers, that way lays "brotherhood", lol, nothing else!
PS: I always keep an eye on what they're wearing too, compliments on attire can be very helpful, especially if offered spontaneously.
Things like "that colour suits your eyes", or "Goes with your hair", or "I didn't realise how slim you really are till you wore THAT", lol.
Good Luck.
